Thx for the tip.

Did you go over the Gothard pass. I have done that a couple of times in the past. Have a nice holiday.
No we did not go over the Gotthard pass this time, since we were in a hurry unfortunately. Used the tunnel instead. 17 km long or so and LTE connection all the way through it so Internet rafio did not interrupt even once. Also very impressed with the road surface in Switzerland. The car went very quiet and enjoyable. With the legal speed limits and toad surface I got some really low consumption figures, even if the drive was not flat in any way. Enjoyed the drive immensely and the weather was ca 27 C!

A lot of the chargers were visible in the cars navigation system, which means that your Porsche charging service should work there. No need for extra fobs or apps if you want. The main problem for me was that the nav system planned good Ionity stops when starting to drive. However Map updates were frequent and each time new stations were added. And they were at times only 50 kW stations, so ignored all of that.

Here are a few screenshots from the app ChargeFinder, which I found extremely good, accurate and very easy to use. The filter here is set for chargers above 150 kW, so there were plenty of them. The nice feature with the app is that it gives you occupancy levels as well as the SoC of cars charging at Ionity stations at least. And if your copilot just clicks on the station name in red, you will be able to use Google maps via CarPlay to navigate to the station.

So 2 weeks in the Taycan...
  • I love how lively the RWD base model is: in any curve, putting the right foot down will (probably partly artificially, PSM computer controlled - even when partly off) make the rear slide.
Lots of fun, coming much easier than on my previous Macan S.

  • Charging: I still not convince I need a 2.5k CHF home charger.
Between the lovely Tesla superchargers close to my home (0.37chf/kW; while we can do the family groceries; or wait 10mn before taking the highway), the Ionity with Porsche Charging prices (0.38CHF/kWh)... It would take 77000 km to compensate for the little convenience improvement.
On the other hand... Between Porsche+Tesla+SwissCharge+... I know have 4 apps related to one EV.
I'm still in the new-car-honeymoon period, seeing mostly the good. But what a lovely machine, in a lovely land!

Salut !
Furka, isn't it? Pic 31 from this page seems to be that exact spot.
Hi there, yes Furka, great spot! I confess its last September I did Furka, Susten and Grimsel round trip. The high passes only just opened in 2024. I cannot recommend highly enough to do this loop. It's a long drive but simply stunning scenery and driving.

Yea it's a volcano grey and it's beautiful with the caveat that it turns into a dirty grey just after few kilometres lol :CWL:

Doum doum doum! Furka opens this Friday... Doum doum doum!
But Susten only on the 28th.

Off-topic: watching the "US Front license plate mount - what do you use?" discussion made me smile - the Swiss attachment system is quite smart.

(for non-Swiss people that wonder why we can remove the plates so easily: we can share them across our cars and pay only one yearly car registration).

There's going to be a "bouchon extraordinaire" for the first week of the Susten opening for sure.
Meanwhile I made a trip in the Naturpark Gantrisch
