So finally took the step and sold the Macan and purchased a Taycan super low miles. I’m looking for help with charging advice. Our driveway isn’t big enough for the car (these Turismos are wide). So home charging isn’t an option so we have to park on the road and can’t always guarantee a spot outside the house. Any advice?
Fortunately we do v low miles as both WFH.
Q 1 - is top up charging bad at like 60% or should you let the battery 🪫 go to 20/30% before plugging in.
Q 2 - should you stop at 85% charge.
Q 3 - UK owners - are these on street Blink chargers more cost effective than Supermarket and Petrol Stations? We have Blink chargers outside our house.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

1. By all means top up when you need to. No need to overthink. (On road trips, the reason experts run it down to 20% is because that means a very fast charge at the next stop - it charges fastest from 10-60% and extremely slowly 85-100%). Just try to mix up AC and DC charging: battery life can be shortened by always charging on DC.

2. Yes, ideally, to preserve battery life. Same as a phone - iPhones now come with an option to stop before 100%. But of course if you are going on a road trip, 100% is fine.

3. Best check the network’s price list. I did find one London network where the Porsche Charging Service was billing a huge multiple of the network’s own price, so don’t assume PCS will be cheaper.

Also see what your local Council is doing to help people without driveway parking. There are various schemes for running cables across pavements in a conduit, for example.

Thanks for the reply v helpful. Can you recommend a home charger as we are now able to park the car on the driveway.
