I was just looking at the snow chains for the Taycan at Suncoast and they are about $600...and that is the sale price.

https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/sku9j1chains.html?Category_Code=TAYCANV3CHASWW

Is this mainly Porsche premium pricing, or is there something about these that are so much higher quality or ease of use or something that comes close to explaining this cost?

I don't mind paying more for a better product (after all, I own a taycan), but not if it is just marketing.

Thanks

Porsche pricing.

Also buy Autosocks instead, IMHO. Same performance, cheaper, won't destroy your car. Most US states now allow them as an alternative to chain requirements.

Thanks for the tip on Autosocks. As is typical in California, their rules are clear: You can use autosocks instead of chains, except when we decide that only chains can be used. LOL.

I bought the snow chains from Porsche as I live up in the Swiss mountains @ 3'600 feet high. The Taycan handles superbly on snow but when it comes to ice I know from experience that you'll need to have snow chains.

For the pricing it's clearly Porsche pricing as @PanameraFrank said. The snow chains are from RUD and they look clearly like the following model
https://www.rud.com/en/products/tyr...udcomfort-centrax.html#collapseProdProperties

Which you can find for less than 250€ (I paid mine 511 € from Porsche ). I'll post some pictures for those interested in a few days

Thanks. Also would like to know if you like them, are snow chains all the same, or are these easier to install or have some other benefits?

Not used yet but tried to mount them "dry" and it worked easily and flawlessly. I don't think to buy from porsche will give some specific benefits, the only thing which is great is the bag, far better that the one from RUD. If you want to go for snow chains you'll have to check with RUD if their "out of the shelf" snow chains fit the wheels of the Taycan with. For reference you'll find the pictures from my snow chains

thanks for this, Porsche say you have to use these with winter tyres. Have you found this? I’m hoping to use snow chains as an alternative to buying a winter set of tyres.
