Tire Difference vs Tire Pressure Meaning

Got a warning that one tire was low. So, I decided (for the first time) to add some air to it and check the computer/monitor and I just realized that Porsche has a thing called “pressure difference”. I read the manual. I think I get it…just not really sure how and what the purpose it is.

I tried searching for this on the forum. Any ideas/insights would be appreciated.

In your first picture the tires in the front are 1psi short of target pressure, the rears are 3 psi over target pressure. Target pressure depends on your tire and load settings in the PCM. The difference screen is compensated for temperature to make adjustments easier than using absolute tire pressure. As temperature goes up, the absolute tire pressure goes up, but the difference will stay about the same (it varies a little due to some inaccuracies of the compensation).

PS> What is your tire type and load set to in the PCM? It seems like the PCM is expecting lower pressures on the back, which is odd (I've never seen it before). Or did you take the second picture at different time than the first?

@whitex , thanks for insights. Making more sense now. The pics above are from same time. Just checked and It looks like the car is set for partial load. So, the front PSI are set higher than rear. I don’t see an option to change the pressure. Maybe if I set it to full load. Tire brand is Falken Azenis 20”.

First of all, relax, those are within range of error.

Secondly, I'm like you - too had a single tyre always not in sync. I ended pumping it +1 above PSI target, and it worked itself out. lol
