My wife just returned with our CT4S. According to the trip data on my phone, she had travelled 35 miles thence and 35 miles back. She took 57 mins there and 50 back. So far so unremarkable.
She left home with 188 miles, she returned with 83 miles. Hm. Now, I appreciate that these ranges are estimates, based on previous consumption stats. Since we typically average 3 miles/kWh, these estimates are typically quite good.
So ... 70 miles of actual road required 100 miles of fuel.
Fuel consumption on the way out was reportedly just 1.9 miles/kWh (worst we have ever seen); on the way back, 3.0 miles/kWh (normal). Terrain is flat with perhaps a slight downward slope on the way out. Both trips were mainly motorway and done by ACC.
What did this car do on the way out? I cannot see the air con or other consumers pull 10 kW for 1hr. Any ideas?
My wife noticed the range estimate gap down as she pulled off the motorway on the way out.
