I have my 2021 Taycan 4s arriving in March, Ive been on this site quite a bit to get all the information I can about what to Expect with an EV. Curious on what you all drove prior or what other cars you own and how they compare.

Currently have just the Taycan 4S and my wife has a Tesla model Y LR AWD. We’ve had a bunch of Tesla in the past and other PHEV/BEV, so the Taycan wasn’t really “new” for us. I’ve had a few 911s (997 GTS, 991.1 C4S, 991.2 C4S) and other high end toys (Audi R8 V8 gated 6SPD for example, as well as a gen2 R8 RWS 2WD). Fastest car 0-60 that I’ve ever owned was my prior Tesla Model 3 Performance with a 3.2s sprint/time, but it never handled as refined as the German cars. Also have had a lot of modified Audi Quattro cars that could best a lot Of Tesla, and vice versa.

I think you’ll love the Porsche pedigree in the Taycan. It is a great sports sedan. And it is different enough from any 911 RS car too. That said, the “miles of smiles” you get from a Huracan or Audi R8 gen2 V10 is different. This car is silent, quick, great for a daily driver. It is a step up from driving fun compared to Tesla, but its not a proper sports car per se...

PS: I’ll be curious what you think of the new Bronco when you get it. Those are gorgeous and intrigue me greatly. Though I’m also curious about the RIVIAN vehicles forthcoming too, since I’m a huge EV fan. Cheers!

My 4S is my daily driver and only car. It replaced a BMW 740e iPerformance PHEV daily driver and a Mercedes ML63 AMG "funcar". My wife drives an Opel Corsa. I think this car is rebranded and sold as a "Buick Encore" in the USA.

But honestly, in todays traffic situation with gridlock and parking issues what I ride most is my BMW C650 GT. No gridlock, pass everywhere, and park anywhere. I can hardly imagine life without a big luxury scooter. ??

I am a member of a carpool. I can drive Nissan Leafs and Toyota Corollas that people have forgotten to clean inside, as much as I want.

I’ve not been so fortunate to have some of those cars so mine don’t sound very exotic, but I still love driving them

Taycan replaced my Golf R as daily driver. Wife now has the Golf. I still think that’s a fantastic car for the money. There’s not much I don’t like about it.

I also drive my Corrado & mk3 Golf both VR6s once a month at least. The Taycan has made them feel slow, especially the Corrado which is all standard. But that’s never been the main point with them, I can really feel how light they are in comparison and I do enjoy being able to occasionally drive a car without most of today’s driving aids, no warning notices no beeps etc.

There’s no doubt the Taycan is an excellent drive and I’m glad I can drive it daily, especially in the cold mornings when I can preheat it - luxurious!

Taycan replaced my Golf R as daily driver. Wife now has the Golf. I still think that’s a fantastic car for the money. There’s not much I don’t like about it.

Agreed! Have never owned a Golf R, but have driven one on multiple occasions. Very, very good car. ?

waiting new Taycan 4s +, i'm driving Porsche Cayenne Coupè Hybrid....previously drove some BMW ( M3, 5 touring G31, X6 ) while my wife drives Honda crv Hyrbid..
