Yup. Just part of the TYD fun, I'd say. We know the vessel just left port, so it's probably still in the channel.

Thanks, just missing your port date.

Anyone else a little perturbed watching the Confucius flounder around in the North Sea for the last 2 days? What is it doing? It hasn't gone anywhere, I'm hoping the GPS signal is lost and it's closer than it appears. Anyone have any information having tracked previous vessels?

It's been fumbling around but the most optimistic take is that it's headed for the English Channel?

Why did it go so north just to do that? Maybe rough waters... ?

Update: It's now facing the correct direction at least...

Yea... makes sense after it was lollygaggy in the middle of the north sea for so long. Making good progress now.

I assume it's following ocean currents... I'm not surprised though, it might be the slowest cargo ship I've tracked lol.

I was bored and did some calculations. At current pace and position it should reach port of RI in a little over 7 days, which would be still 12/5 afternoon (with a few hours gained going westerly via timezone changes). Of course, anything can happen, and sometimes it just waits around outside the port too.
