Where did they fit your rear dashcam - ST & CT?

Curious to know where Porsche fitted your rear Porsche Dashcam.

I've not paid any attention to mine since I got the car, but needed some footage and found it impossible to link to the cameras via my phone.

Whilst struggling with the app - which has proved unfathomable so far, it simpy refuses to connect to my phone - I had a good look at the rear camera position for the first time, and in my opinion it's fitted in a rather stupid place.

My car is quite clean at the moment but rear camera visibility is quite terrible because it's been fitted outside the wiper area! Therefore, I suspect that for over 1/2 the year in the UK, the rear camera will prove to be utterly useless.

Your rear camera position is in a horrible spot, both because of the dirt which is out of reach of the wiper, and because it's not centered, meaning you're catching more of your right hand side than left. I self-installed a dashcam (not Porsche, but using Porsche pre-wire), works well in the center, not even mounted on the glass.

Interesting.
Seems odd to intentionally have it fitted where dirt will reduce its effectiveness for so much of the year.
Probably an afterthought.

Perhaps they assumed people keep their Porsche's in pristine conditions in their garages, only drive them in perfect, sunny weather.
