Why does UK configurator not allow Carbon trim package with normal race tex interior?

Dear all,

I have selected a GTS with normal black race tex interior (not the GTS interior package for Crayon or Red stitching).

When I attempt to select the carbon package option, it does not allow me on the configurator and says it has to be leather seats.

I can’t understand why this option is not available. I thought it would be relatively simple for Porsche to add carbon trims to door sides etc.

May anyone explain if this can be overcome? Thanks in advance.

I had the same issue with the USA config as well!!!

I can’t explain why, but it is definitely the case that you need to have the GTS silver or red interior packages to have the carbon included, it’s not possible to add it to the basic black Race-Tex interior. Alternatively you need to option leather.

can confirm, same applies to Canadian configurator.

I guess it is Porsche’s way of making sure you dish out additional $$$ and go for the nice GTS interior package, if you want racetex/leather combo specific to the GTS trim…

I think this is strange one... can't see how they would benefit? Surely it can't be too hard to install carbon trims?

It keeps the bits exclusive, I guess.

Installing trims like this can be a ball ache IME. And there are a few pieces to do.
