Interesting article. As almost everything is detrimental to a new tire and the changes are additive, the potential for range loss is really large.

One of the biggest annoyances with Porsche is their N-rated tires.
You are several generations behind the latest version of those tires in the Taycan ‘s case.
I’d rather have up-to-date tires than a tire with a slightly stiffer sidewall or minimal compound changes.
A different story for the high performance range/RS models, but for their passenger cars, I’d appreciate a different strategy.

I sometimes wonder if there really is a difference with the N spec tires aside from the foam padding to minimize road noise.

This independent test by Tire Reviews on Youtube also gives a different perspective. Instead of EV tires vs normal tires, he compares ECO tires vs its mainstream tire (same marketing name).
