I've had this 12v battery warning a few times over past few months
Today was really weird though as car had just been taken off the charger (topped up to 80%) and it'd actually been plugged in for about 36hr (I didn't go anywhere so didn't disconnect earlier)

Anyway drove 5miles to visit someone
On way back it gave same warning then abruptly turned the pcm off
Map was still on in main display but everything else turned off. Did this 3 times while waiting for family to get in car

Thankfully didn't die on me when I restarted and drove off

I see 12v battery is an issue online
Car is in 11th month since new so will head to dealer ASAP. Only 6k on the clock. Anything I should be on guard for before I go?

Dealership is the sensible option. A failing 12v is not good and could render the car useless.

If you have a Li-ion 12v charger you can top up but that may disguise the underlying issue. Hopefully you get a replacement battery - it will be under warranty - if it has an issue.

Well that was underwhelming
Booked in in 2 months time
If it keeps happening (it happened on the drive in and when driving away from them) keep taking pix
If it cuts out call porsche assist and they might bring it to us sooner and we bump you up queue...

Sorry to hear they are not more accommodating. Just out of curiosity, are most of your trips short in duration? It's my understanding that the 12V battery needs to charge during run time similar to in an ICE vehicle. It might be worth watching the 12V voltage in your info cluster while taking a 20-30 minute drive and seeing how the voltage fluctuates.

Yes they are (mostly local city runs) and I need to do a longer run I get that but it not internally trickle charging while connected he couldn't explain that to me

Will try to find another dealer with shorter interval
But I drew the line when he told me to buy a trickle charger to resolve it

I said if that's whats required to fix the problem in my less than a year old car you give me one...

When you say a trickle charger, do you have the specific Lithium variant for this. A normal lead acid trickle charger will not do it!

I had multiple issues with the battery showing low. Replaced battery once and then was given battery charger by MB to keep battery charged. I keep my car keys in house about 30 ft from garage and was told that they may be draining battery by constant communicating with car. I bought a faraday bag on amazaon, that blocks key signal. (also stops thieves from duping key) That was months ago and so far no problem with battery. Cheap possible solution to problem.

I have my Taycan for 2 years now and never had a 12 v battery warning. Car is a dream. No problems at all. I only have 6,000 miles on the car and I charge inside my garage. I just got the replacement charger from Juice Box. works great and very fast charge times.

Thanks Randy and all good points but I always keep the key in a Faraday bag
I suspect my dashcam might be a partial culprit but it's certainly getting worse and I can't see how to reverse it or charge this battery natively
Cut out again when I turned it on in driveway but when I set off was okay

Info cluster says it's at 14.2v so good but still says low charge

My MY22 ST has now succumbed to the dreaded 12v low voltage warning. Recently whilst driving a note to same appeared on the PCM screen. When I would check in the right hand side binnacle, it would report V in the range 13.8 - 14.1. That was fine until last Saturday I was locked out of my own car (thankfully in my own driveway) by a complete 12v depletion with the traction "monster" battery by comparison circa 80%. So off it went to Porsche Dublin for resolution. "Keep in touch" I said but here we are closing in on the weekend and not a word ! It is my first issue with this wonderful car but it sounds like a pervasive issue with the species which might be a help to us all.

I believe 14.2v means that the HV battery is actively charging your 12V battery. IIRC I usually see that indicator sitting at around 13.4V but I’m going off of memory. You should keep an eye on that metric and see where it settles in after a long drive.

14.2 V is definitely an indication that your 12 V battery is being charged by the HV system. It should be indicating 13.4-13.5 V during normal driving. A 20-minute drive should suffice to get the battery charged. How long does your car set between drives? I’ve found the 12V battery starts losing power after a week or more of not driving…regardless of whether or not it’s plugged into a HV battery charger. I would also look into any external sources (dash cam) that my be draining the battery while the car is parked.
