Honestly I will try the battery disconnection before dropping the car at the dealer. It will save you time. Actually I have the same issue on the ford F150 lightning i recall.

I had this issue, the car LTE wasn’t connecting for some reason to Porsche servers. Resolved itself after about a week, I had wondered if Porsche did a weekend server reboot as it seemed to start working on the Monday.

Had this a few weeks ago. No LTE connection, tried two finger reboot but didn't work either.

Finally fixed it by disconnecting the 12v battery in the frunk for 45 mins then connecting back up. LTE symbol on PCM returned and everything started working fine again. I did have it booked into my OPC to get checked out but the battery disconnect fixed it.

I’ll bring it in anyway since every update which tried to install failed as well.
My SA said they will likely need to update the software since any update that does make it do the vehicle fails to load.

I have same issue with my 2025 J1.2, and have an appointment to look at PCM in a couple of weeks.

I live in a fairly rural part of England and have suddenly noticed my app just will not update while the car is parked on my drive.

Works absolutely fine away from home, so I’m guessing it’s a cellular network issue. Which would make sense as there’s basically zero phone signal at my house.

Does Porsche use Vodafone in the UK still, does anyone know?

Has anyone else started having problems in the last week or so?

Pretty sure it's Vodaphone for the LTE service and the PTS trackers.
There's a menu screen in the cars PCM you can bring up which shows the LTE signal strength and has the carrier name on it, be worth checking what it displays when parked on your drive.

But given I have no phone signal on my drive I’m guessing it’s not good!

I've lost LTE connection for a couple of days now - but also I see Bluetooth is missing (won't connect to a known mobile and doesn't present an option to connect a new one) and the GPS/nav is WAY off - it's got me driving through fields maybe a mile from where I actually am .

I was in France last week and noticed that I could not send anything to the car; sat nav routes, climate control commands etc.

Also, searching for destinations in the car itself wasn't really working properly. It could find some addresses, but not others that I could find in the Porsche app on my phone.

Back home this week, everything's been fine again. I've been preconditioning the car and sending it destinations and routes with no problem.

Has anyone else from the UK noticed this recently? Have Vodafone cut off Porsche's roaming plan?! The car said it had LTE the whole time...

I was in Germany and Belgium a couple of months ago and everything worked fine.

I may try that as well but since I have the appointment for this Friday the 22nd I’ll let them know that disconnecting the battery for 45 minutes solved the problem for another Taycan owner. I’m hoping they can figure out why it stopped working in the first place.

Well, just as I pulled into the Porsche service center it miraculously began working.
They kept it for a few days to check everything out but found nothing.

It was working fine for a few months until Monday night at 7:59PM it stopped updating in the app for both my wife and I.
I’m waiting 48 hours as I did before to see if it starts working again and if it doesn’t I try the two finger reset on the PCM but I am noticing some strange things still happening sporadically.
When it is communicated it will say one or more of my windows are open and the vehicle is unlocked but I know I locked it and I know I didn’t touch the windows especially the rear windows which are never used.
I go in the garage without my key fob to confirm it’s locked and all the windows are up but I look on the app and it says the two rear windows are open and the vehicle is unlocked.
I also had the PCM go blank and only show the white Porsche logo.
Nothing else started up but the vehicle drove as normal. No CarPlay, nothing but the Porsche logo while I drove it for 15 minutes but it started to work as normal when I turned it off at my next stop and shut the vehicle down & locked it up. When I came back 30 minutes later it started up as normal and has not done this again for the last 2 weeks.
Something strange is happening
I’m getting a bit annoyed that I can’t trust the app to give me the actual status of the vehicle but not being able to monitor SOC remotely is what you get when you cancel the Porsche App renewal.
What am I paying for then? A Porsche app which can give you vehicle status periodically? That’s ridiculous if Porsche can’t get simple communications from their vehicles to their own servers to be reliable.
From an electronics perspective Porsche appears to not be ready for primetime where they charge for a service they can’t reliably provide.
If it’s still not updating on day 3 then I will schedule an appointment again so they can troubleshoot this issue.
Thankfully I’m still under warranty…
…but I’ll bet the day of my appointment it will start working again and they’ll find nothing again.
