I'm considering to buy an OBDII to read data from my card. I never used such device before. Will it break any possible warranty from Porsche?

It seems the OBDLink MX+ device together with iOS app "Car Scanner ELM OBD2" is the way to go, based on some posts I read here in the forum. Anyone recommends something else or are these a good choice for Taycan owners?

No warranty issues. I am actually helping my dealer with it. Only issue is that the OBD/CarScanner only works on J1.1 Taycans. I wonder if anyone found a way of another App possibly to get accurate readings for J1.2.

Thank you @SergeyIndy ! My Taycan is a J1.1 model (Turbo S Sport Turismo, MY23) so it should work. I guess I'me going to bite the bullet and get the OBDLink MX+ device :)

I was considering the OBDLink MX+ device, but you're recommending the Vgate vLinker MC+. Any particular app you recommend for iOS?
CarScanner works well for both iOS and Andrioid. I have used both.
I cannot confirm operation of the OBDLink MX+ unless someone else on the forum used it.

What doesn't work about CarScanner with J1.2? I don't use it very often, but the readings seemed accurate last time I did.

Also, ODBII is a standard interface required on all cars in the USA since the mid-90s. So if you buy an adapter, you can use the app for any car you may own.

The data is total nonsense. This is an example from a recent reading from one of the forum members with a J1.2.

Since it is proven by other members that the OBDLink MX+ device works well, even though it seems to cost twice the price of the Vgate vLinker MC+, I guess I prefer to use the American based product instead of the Chinese one (even though both are probably Chinese manufactured).

Thank you all who provided answers. I was afraid this would eventually break any warranty from Porsche. I learned a lot more. This is a great place for Taycan owners - I'm learning a lot!

We are indeed the best body of knowledge for all things Taycan. Happy to review your readings. Post Dashboard views that show Battery Energy, SoH, and then 3 graphs: Cell Voltage, Temp and SoC. This data to me is important to monitor every 1k miles to proactively detect any battery cell issues that result in the Red Circle of Death or see if I am getting to SoH level to call warranty.

I'm very interested in checking battery health because I bought my Taycan used a month ago and I have used it just a handful of times, but it seems that the range is VERY small. I know the Turbo S (MY23) has a limited range but what I'm getting seems to be too small. I will post about it on a different topic, not to mix different things into this topic.

The data from OBD/CarScanner will be able to tell the full story using actual data. Reported Range by the car is not a reliable data point to make the claim that the range is very small because it is a calculated value using many inputs.

Would you consider changing the title of this thread? For future people searching for helpful information, saying "...breaks warranty" in the title would be misleading based on the conversation that took place.
