I picked up the car today. They replaced the OBC and checked the HV battery. The OBC charter was replaced, and sadly I do not have the part number but I asked again and was again told that this is an upgraded OBC. Apparently after this upgrade they didn't see any taycans fail again.
If this happened again, could you simply start the car using a jump starter like shown in the videos a few posts earlier, and just continue driving? or is the 12V battery necessary while driving? I'm also curious if anyone else has heard about the new version of this onboard charger, or if they...
I have the 22 kW. Yeah, I'm curious to know more about it as well. I'll ask for the report and will share it here. I'll also ask ct14 to rerun the report after some time to see what they entered :D
So the diagnosis is a damaged onboard charger. For now, I'm waiting for a new one, should take 1 week to replace — apparently, there’s an upgraded model and it shouldn’t break again (?). I got a Macan EV loaner - a very nice car.
Here is a longer version:
He used a jumper starter to open a frunk, then jump started the car by connecting directly to the battery and the car seems to be still on after he disconnected the cables. I wonder if this would be a quick fix to what happened to me, so that I could jump start it on...
I opened the window, put in neutral, was pushing the car with one hand, and steering with the other — which is a bit tough without power steering, but I’m a slim and rather not very muscular guy ;)
The guy from Porsche assistance tried unplugging and replugging the battery and this is I think when the car totally lost electricity. Prior to that emergency lights were working and I could still change gears from P to N.
I thought I would share with you guys of what I posted last Friday on Taycan Facebook group.
I was planning to head out for a long weekend last Friday, so on Thursday evening I set a timer for the car to charge to 100% by morning. On Friday morning, an hour after it should’ve been fully...
A bit funny but the same thing happened to me a few days ago. I get into the car and see the message that the left electric charging port is damaged. The car was not connected to the charger at the time. When I tried to open the port it only opened halfway and jammed...tried several times and...
That's good to hear. Yes, I had mine replaced - I received a letter informing me that I had to make an appointment to have it replaced. I wrote to them and was told that the next possible slot was only in December (it was the end of August). I asked them if they guaranteed it was safe to use...
I wonder if the Swiss dealer would notify me as soon as possible. I almost always have to proactively ask if a recall/update is available, and I usually get the impression that I am not being told the truth.
