  1. Dealing with the front license plate

About two weeks late with my reply - the MA inspection station that provided my sticker did not complain about the license plate being stuck to the bumper with 3M double-sided tape. I drove around like that for a month before the Sto N Sho arrived.
  2. Bizarre 'whistleblower' claims “60% of all delivered Taycan have battery issues that caused replacements, damages and fires”

Awareness? Hysteria is a more apt description. It took Porsche 3 weeks to diagnose an airbag warning light on my C4S. Maybe I should have asked for a new engine, because, eh, who knows?
  3. Does a fully charged Taycan weigh the same as one that's nearly depleted?

I'm not sure if I this is funny or deeply disturbing. Whether electrons have mass or not is not a matter of debate or opinion, but a simple scientific fact that can be verified in any number of experimental approaches. The correct answer is that electrons have a rest mass as indicated above...
  4. Does a fully charged Taycan weigh the same as one that's nearly depleted?

Well, electric current is quite literally the net motion of charge carriers through a circuit per unit of time, and for most power circuits those charge carriers are electrons. But indeed, no electrons are lost or added when discharging or charging a battery - it is just the chemical...
  5. Taycan GTS vs Turbo - 0-60 acceleration noticeable?

Launching the car by oneself from a traffic light, with no direct or back-to-back comparison, I doubt one can consistently tell a 10% difference in acceleration. Wildcard here is how Porsche decides to fine-tune the launch.
  6. Cannot charge at Electrify America right now?! WTF

EA works in mysterious ways. Yesterday was my most successful charging session yet, plug&charge worked, rate was good for this particular station and I was able to unplug the cable at the end. Not expecting to be able to repeat this anytime soon.
  7. Long braking? Taycan Turbo (no PCCB)

I think your numbers are off by a few orders of magnitude.
  8. Tyre scrubbing and juddering at full turning lock - only on 21" alloys?

Haven't really noticed that much, if at all, on my RWD Taycan on 20" wheels, no RWS. On my Carrera 4S the effect was faintly ridiculous.
  9. Dealing with the front license plate

I "installed" it on my 2021 Taycan - took all of 2 min.
  10. Taycan RWD Acceleration without Launch Control

Absolutely not. Porsche carefully adjusted the performance off the line to establish the RWD->4->4s->Turbo hierarchy. Once moving, the differences of e.g. RWD/4 to 4s are much smaller (e.g., compare 0-60 gap with 50-70).
  11. Selling private instead of trading

? not much to add. Last time I sold a car privately we went to my bank and I handed over title/key once the bank wire hit my account. With the tax offset in MA, I'd want to get ~ 10% more in a private sale vs trade-in to go through the potential hassle. For the Taycan I dropped off my 2014 C4s...
  12. ? World Premiere: 2022 Taycan GTS Sedan and GTS Sport Turismo

I headed over to the US configurator to see what that complaint could be about - they indeed look like something yucky caught between the spokes of a nice wheel.
  13. First 2022 Taycan GTS and Sport Turismo GTS Photos!

Curious how much range they cost compared to the Aero wheels (the wheels, not the stitching)...
  14. Poll: Overrun Recup Settings

I love the coasting (and find the recuperation when lifting off in my wife's X5 hybrid annoying).
  15. Anyone considering move to Lucid Air?

Not a very attractive car, IMO, which for some odd reason matters quite a lot to me.
  16. Infrastructure Bill passed. I don’t think this is good.

So the "vast majority" became "more than half" of the most expensive brand among the top selling EVs. Sounds more like it (even though it's off if one looks at the distribution of used M3s currently on the market). At $55k, Tesla should be able to manipulate prices to get more cars under the cap.
  17. Infrastructure Bill passed. I don’t think this is good.

I'm not sure what you are talking about. The most popular trims of all six top selling EV models in the US fit under the price caps.
  18. Average household income really $900k?

? feeling poor. But seriously, average income at that level makes no sense at all.
  19. A Big Shoutout to the Gentleman with the turbo S in Gainesville, FL

Same happened to me a week ago - plug&charge doesn't work, Porsche Connect doesn't do anything, all credit card payments fail, EA mobile payment fails. EA customer service eventually starts a paid session :swear:
  20. Proposed U.S. $12,500 tax credit . . . BUT

I thought it was funny, to each their own.
