This is a real problem.
I got stuck with a bill for the labor rate difference after my 4S got rear-ended. The certified shops in Massachusetts all wave red flags and warnings about my insurer (MAPFRE). It turned out to be a $200 difference for a minor repair, but I could easily envision a...
I don’t have those wheels, but the Turbo wheels on my 4S accumulate very little brake dust. The brakes aren’t used much while driving on these cars and they are cool to the touch almost all the time. What I see is that a combination of road dirt and a thin film of brake dust will collect after...
Sad to say, this didn’t work. Taycan, was considerably unhappier than when I did this before the update, with all sorts of warnings about service.
Sigh… adding this to the list for my next dealer visit.
Hey everyone,
I was trying to configure my instruments today and noticed that the menu is greyed out. I was hoping to get the battery temp back on the dash. Anybody else seen this? It looks like it happened after the firmware updates, and I’m hoping to avoid another week long dealer ordeal.
I still have a 997 C2S Cab. The Taycan has a lot of the vibe of a 911 so you wont miss much except the sound. The cabriolet has better ventilation :). The Taycan is way faster, which ruins your perception of ICE cars. I think the only thing you need to get used to is the extra length. Rear...
I've done Boston-Chatham, MA round trips several times this year - about 92 miles each way - and I get home with 30-40% SOC depending on weather and how fast I drive. There are a couple of EA chargers along the way, but I've learned not to bother stopping. In my worst case plan, I would make a...
I dropped off my 4S today for a backlog of campaigns. I was told that there are two new ones listed for my car but that they would not be available for this visit. I guess I have to come back... At least they have nice snacks at Porsche Westwood. :)
Looks like I'm now a part of the "overheated brotherhood". My 4S sat in a garage for 5 days and emerged with no A/C. Just in time for a 90+ degree day in Boston. (Oddly, the battery temp seemed rather low at 80 degrees) You say that if I stick it back in the garage, it might come to its senses?
Hey everyone,
Wondering if anyone has seen this happen: After leaving the car plugged in for a couple of days while I was away, I had a hard time getting the passenger side charge port door to latch closed. It eventually latched shut, but now it wont open. It feels like it's permanently locked...
+1
ChargePoint seems to be the best option if you want the full 11.5kw. I have two of them and that would be my recommendation. Also, getting a 100A+ circuit in your home is not practical. 60A is doable.
This begs the question: Is the upgraded on-board AC charger is usable for most people?
Update: FIXED! I popped the cover on the frunk, used a 10mm socket to undo the negative terminal, and waited 5 minutes. When I put it all back together, the HUD magically came back.
Thank you!
Hi folks,
I thought I’d post to see if anyone has seen this happen. Got in my 4S yesterday and I noted a new buzzing sound coming out or the dashboard area. When the car powered up, the HUD was missing. No amount of turning it on/off in the settings helped. It seems stuck somehow. The buzzing...
Instead of recognizing that public charging infrastructure needs to get better, the report goes down a rathole assuming that everyone will spend hours wandering around looking for a public charger. Most EV owners have L2 chargers at home, rendering his whole argument moot. Of course, they...
I have the same problem. Also true if you have podcasts or Apple Music on. The phone connects and you get silence. The only workaround I have found is to turn off car play and use Bluetooth. It is annoying but I haven’t complained about it yet.
Had to take it back to the dealer where they reapplied the WMA6 upgrade and a special patch for the drive control issue. Then they lobotomized the PCM which required me to login and set up presets again. But it’s back!
Very subjective, but here in the US, I got the Premium and Performance packages along with the big battery. I added folding mirrors, heated seats, and the rear middle seat. Finally went with the Race-Tex steering wheel, head-up display, and Innodrive. Of all these, I think Innodrive is...
