I’m excited. Even if it’s not objectively better than the Taycan, having the Polestar 5 and Neue Klasse BMW are all good signs of more choice in the EV space. Plus, purely emotional subjective comment, but the Polestar 5 looks pretty good. Ya it’s shallow, but if it weren’t for looks, why else...
I like it. It’s how the bmw x6 was supposed to look way back when it first came out though in my opinion none of the coupe suvs ever managed to look right to this one. Reminds me of when I’d used to swap my road car RC shells onto my truck chassis!
I once had garage door opener programmed but just put the remote in my car to free it up. Now I have the cameras on the wheel, and sport sound on the dash.
BMW is building quite the electric pedigree. This is totally on my list though I can’t justify switching cars so quickly. That said, life’s short… if the reviews are stellar, it’s gonna be hard to resist.
Huh. I had this exact same issue. Deep scuff on the bottom of my leather wheel. I have no idea what possibly could’ve caused it. I’ve never had this in any other car either. I have no rings. I only wear an Apple Watch. I am in slacks 5 of 7 days so nothing I can think of that can scratch it...
That’s probably true. I have no idea what options it had but based on the description I’d guess that’s the case. IIRC it was a standard i5, not the m60.
I’m dying for the neue klasse EV m4. I think that’s going to be the only real Taycan competitor. At least until the neue klasse m5 comes!
I drove the i4 and i5 on one of those BMW hosted experience days. The i5 was noticeably floaty and nowhere near as good as the Taycan or even the gasoline 5 series they also had. Probably still a good family car but I don’t see it as a Taycan competitor. More an EQE competitor.
The i4 was...
I thought the Taycan would have more recalls than a 911 since Porsche doesn’t have EV powertrain expertise but it looks like they can’t even properly do a passenger seat or reverse cam. Oops.
This seems like a general Porsche gripe vs Taycan. Not that I disagree with anything here. In fact - I now also have zero desire for a 911 as a lot of my gripes are not Taycan specific. I think I’d go also go back to bmw for a m4 or m6 next. Ideally the electric Neue Klasse.
Well - emotionally...
Same issue with most European luxury brands ie - Chanel and LV. Below excerpt from FT - emphasis mine.
“Chanel, founded by designer Coco Chanel, has pushed through some of the sharpest price increases in the luxury industry in recent years, leading some customers to complain of a disconnect...
Either full blown Apple CarPlay ultra, or even better, no PCM. Just give me buttons for AC and an old school head unit. You can even leave a single DIN blank there.
Regarding the issue with the door handles retracting when attempting to open the door; I find that happens when I have my phone with my keys in the pocket. Is it because the phone interferes with the signal and the car things I walked away? Same with the hatch not closing when I press the close...
I presume there will be third party packs in the future like there is for the i3 these days. I doubt anyone here will go for this but undoubtedly there will be a market for it...
