Yep.....today dealership diagnosed as cable....'too high a resistance'.....replace under warranty but they are B.O.d with no ETA so, I'm off to E.America.
Circling back.....on an E-America DC Fast Charger it's charging to 100% (which on this car it shows a 240 mile range) in about 40 minutes from a 20% SOC.
So.....it's possibly something on my AC home 50amp on the MCC?
Dealership just has a 50kw DC cabinate, so not sure what charging there would...
Direct charge yielded.....59% and 126 mile range, but it was only at about 90 miles when I plugged it in.
It ran for 1:06 before shutting down.
I'm going to E-America fast charger next to see results.
PMCC.....Appreciate you and all that are trying to help.
Car is 2 yrs old...as is the garage system. This issue started about a month ago.
Sorry no pics but I have quoted verbatin what the screens say.
Darn, I'm going to have leave this issue and re-address after the weekend.
Heading out now...
For some time we are unable to get our (2020) Tay to charge up more than 140 miles……this is on our home 50 Amp dedicated circuit.
Profile is set to 100%.
It charges for about 1 hour 15 minutes then stops. Porsche wall unit says “Charging ended”…..or occasionally says “Charging not possible”.
We...
Not sure what fan you are referring to but a small computer fan something like this Fan probably would do the trick along w/a spring wound count-down timer (8 hr or whatever)......course you'd need to cut holes for both the fan and exhaust.
Like I need another project :headbang:.
For what it's worth.....a 100% charge in my garage overnight gets me this display on MCConnect......."Restricted Operation, Device Temperature too high, reduce charging current in Device Settings and avoid direct sun light."
I'm back to 85% but obviously the 'device' referred to would be the...
It's probably been mentioned but watching the clock time on the center console for your finish time is worth a laugh some times. I called EA to see if they could tell me the rate of charge for the 350kw cabinet I'd plugged into at 2:45 this afternoon. Display said she'd be done at 1:00 A.M...
Thanks for sharing your tale......tough to read.
Gotta say...the reference to the Walmart EA station caught my eye since it's just down the street from my business. What a weird place to but a whole raft of new EA pumps.
Your Tay and mine must be the only EV's that have ever charged there...
I have communicated with Porsche Connect multiple times on this.....and even sent them links to similar discussions on the other Taycan forum.
Definitely are software issues here....Charging America app communicating with E.America system and it communicating with PCNA-Connect.
I have yet to...
I just share this ....from 5 minutes ago....Atlanta says....use the PorscheConnect app for charging, at least for now......apparently Charging America is doing 'updates'.....or so they say.
Spent an hour yesterday (in the hot sun) at a Madison, WI E.America charger.
Only my 2nd time trying to charge....both unsuccessful.
PorscheConnect Support says my account is good for free charging....not.
Again I was using the ChargingAmerica app......no go.
800# support from E.America again...
Wow....feel fortunate a new E.America is just a couple blocks from my office....Walmart.
Did the 50amp garage install....14-50 receptacle, but plan on using the free power instead.
As has been mentioned.....the 14-50 receptacle should be installed with the ground pin on the bottom......unless you want to stand on your head for operation.
Also........it's helpful to locate the nearest appropriate wall stud so that the center top and bottom main screws can hit that. Those...
