I’m in England so weather is never mega hot, although we do occasionally see north of 30 degrees. My business partner has a new car coming in a couple of weeks without the thermal glass so I’ll see how that looks.

I like the design clock, I’ve got it on my current build and it the only one that looks like a watch (I like watches ?), can say I look at it that often to tell the time though, I normally just look on the dash ?

Neve felt I’ve needed the night vision, although for 4 months of the year I’m driving too and from work in the dark I suppose. Lights are so good it’s never cause me a problem. Will have a think though ?
Have night vision and would spec it again. I have it permanently on in the middle of the instrument cluster. Whenever blinded by oncoming traffic it’s useful to double check the car’s path. I believe night vision helped me avoid two accidents so far. One was driving about 3-4am, empty streets, I’m on a 4 lane highway alone, or so I thought. I see a yellow rectangle as I scan the night vision, WTF? Turns out there was a bicyclist smack in the middle of my lane, no reflectors, dressed in black, probably intoxicated. At highway speeds, good chance we would have collided. I honked my horn, he went to the shoulder. The other time was similar time, night vision triggered a collision warning. I slow down. I clearly see on the FLIR some 4-legged animal crossing the road, but I could not see it through the windshield. I even went back to dashcam footage later, all I saw was a shadow which I think was the animal (dashcam does not capture the FLIR view).

So bottom line for me, worth it.

Looks like I’m gonna have to search behind the sofa to find a bit more change then…..??‍♂?

new suspension is what’s killed the budget, but I think it will be big upgrade.

Thermal glass is a must have for warmer climates. I also enjoy the ventilated seats. Either way, enjoy!
Tell me you haven’t been to Peterborough without telling me you’ve not been to Peterborough

Nice spec.
I chose not to have a glass roof because it looks so much better and I rarely have rear seat passengers.
I have a thermal camera as standard on my PHEV Prius which is only a warning, not video, but it has not ever given a warning in the 7 years I have had it so I didn't and wouldn't bother with it.

I would never choose a black interior when an alternative is offered - just boredom and hot in the sun (anything to reduce wasted power in an EV too) - but it does look good with red...

no rear steering axle (useful only at low speed)
Not so.

Rear wheel steer evolved from the multi-link rear suspension developed because the earlier semi trailing arm system toed-out on liftoff which required great skill to drive on the limit.

The multi link with rubber bushes was engineered to toe in a bit on lift off for ease of driving.
Rear wheel steer goes further in this.
Also by steering opposite to the front wheels it shortens the effective wheelbase at low speed to improve responsiveness and steering the rears with the front wheels at high speed to improve stability.

Any benefit in low speed manoeuvring is a side-effect of this - though it is admittedly the only thing most owners would directly notice.

I'm sure you know this, but for others: night vision assist functions in the background so you do not need to display it in the instrument cluster.
Yes I do, but it will only let me know when collision is imminent. I prefer to scan it as I drive, like the speedometer, enhancing my situational awareness while driving. When I see a shadow on the side of the road for example, quick glance at the FLIR tells me whether it’s a human or animal that I could potentially enter my path, or is it a mailbox which I can ignore.

I should also add that using it improved my ability to spot people around the roads at night with just my eyes. Night vision helped train my brain. :)
