So, in the PCM you can configure the range mode settings, including what AC mode to use when the car is in Range mode. (Defaults to Eco). You’ll then see the AC switch to the desired operating state when you switch to range mode while driving.
However, in my experience this only happens if you don’t have a destination set in the navigation system and for the life of me I can’t figure out the reasoning behind that logic. It’s either a bug or a mechanism unknown to me.
