Hi all,

just a quick question.

I‘m ordering this and whilst I think 5.5 should be fine.

I am tempted to go 8.5 just to be sure and also help if we ever go to 2 electric cars or more choice where to park on the drive.

The only thing putting me off is having 3 extra meter of cables in the box makes it more messy and a bit more awkward when getting out and putting away.

Is anyone who has it able to advise, thanks

Hi we have 8.5m cable and it winds perfectly into the charger - no wires are visible - no mess. A little extra to pay but you get that extra freedom of parking a little further away in your drive if need be.

Get the 8.5. I have never thought "I wish the cord were shorter".

@Fuzzy80 8.5 tucks away nicely into the charging station, easily reaches both sides of the car not cumbersome at all. (Attached a few images if it helps).

My dealer talked me into the longer cable. I am having an outlet installed at my parents’ place up North. With the longer cable, my Dad will make me park outside when I visit. With the shorter cable, I could have used that as excuse to make him park outside. That’s the only downside of the longer cable I can think of. :D

Hi Fuzzy
Get the 8.5 m cable. You will not notice any difference day to day as it will all hide away inside the Andersen unit, but if like me, your drive can get congested, it will mean you can have another car between the unit and your Taycan.
The Andersen is more expensive than most, but definitely worth it.

I went for 8.5m too for the flexibility, however I must be more clumsy than others or less patient because I find winding the cable back into the unit a complete PITA! Most of the time I just re-seat the plug in the top and leave the rest of the cable out.

I very rarely get the cable all back in neatly and quite often have cable poking out the sides or out of the bottom of the unit and it just looks very untidy. I wish it was on some kind of retractable reel.
