I think the problem is we aren’t switching overnight and for many years there will be a lot of petrol and diesel cars. So you can’t say non ev cars can’t park at lamp posts which mean people will have to shuffle around to find a charger which isn’t always near their house.A good long term resi solution would be:
- 11kW/22kW in each lamp post along the street.
- a pair of 50 KW faster chargers at the end of each street.
The takes care of "overnight" charging and a quick 30/60 minute charge if you're in more urgent need.
Question is who pays for it all.
I think the channels in the pavement is the way to go too on this..
