Friends, this is a bit of a weird one, yet annoying and I'm trying to figure out whether I'm alone with this.

Car - Taycan 23 with 14-way all leather interior, done 4700 km (around 3k miles).

Issue location - the back part of the driver's seat, middle-upper left section (the one closer to the door) (e.g. around where the upper section of bolster support ends)

Issue - at some point I've noticed that If I lean back in the seat slightly stronger and then let the pressure off by moving forward, I'd hear a weird clicking noise, almost as if something was sticking to something and unsticking inside the seat. After short fiddling with inflating-deflating the chambers inside the seat it disappears (e.g. I cannot reproduce it), then appears again. I do hear it sometimes when exiting the car and pressing a specific seat back area stronger than usual. The passenger seat does not seem to have this issue, at least I've tried pressing all over the same areas and did not hear much (it is hardly being used though).

Did anyone hear something similar in their car?

I am attaching a video of me basically pressing the area.

the issue that I'm trying to tackle here is - is this "normal" or a warranty case? I really try to minimize the number of times the dealer touches the car, hence the question :)

while I am kinda happy there are no replies here (which means nobody is dealing with this stuff), will keep the thread updated in case someone ever encounters a similar issue.

In all fairness, by the way, at least half of the car owners I know would simply ignore this :)

So, an update: went to the dealer, and demonstrated the issue, which apparently was caused by myself using the upper position of 14-way seat lumbar inflation. Anyway, the dealer said it was not ok and something unclipped inside the seat.

next steps - open the back of the seat, and potentially disassemble the front as well. At this point, I honestly do not believe they can put everything together just the way it was and not scratch all the plastics and leather around while doing it. But we are yet to find out, I guess.

keeping the updates going: visited the dealer, they took the seat apart.

Apparently, the issue is in the upper inflatable bladder, no retainer clips detached or anything.
Warranty solution - they have ordered the whole inner assembly with inflatable bladders, will take the seat out, strip it, and change the guts. Sounds like a defect in how the bladder itself is glued together.

FWIW, I had a warranty repair (PODS issue) on the seat in my Audi that required pulling it apart. As long as the service tech is careful, there is no reason anything should scratch or look different. I hope your repair goes smoothly.

Quick update here: the seat was pulled out of the car, and dismantled, the inflatable chambers inside the seat are changed, and the sticking sound is gone.

and the issue, though, was the human factor - when pulling the seat out, the dealer managed to scratch the panel under the storage compartment (under-the-elbow one) with a seat rail. And now, they've ordered a new trim piece.
That's kinda fine, but with this level of attentiveness, I'm considering leaving it as is as now it seems that they will only create more damage on leather parts and other plastics, as the trim change would require some interior disassembly.

Pics attached lol

@sergey_ja For what it's worth, you're not alone. I just started experiencing the same clicking sound in my Taycan 4S with the same 14-way leather seats. I did notice that it happens particularly after I have the seat warmers on for a few minutes.

Gonna take it in under warranty and see what they do. It is reassuring to know that others have had the same issue and got it addressed.

I have a very similar issue. I hear a click when I lean back and then come forward. It is a bit annoying. Guess I'll mention it next time I see the dealer.

worth mentioning. Mine is gone now and the damaged panel was replaced. So far so good.
