My car is sitting at the port waiting on the TPM before shipping to my dealer. Dealer's response is we will get an update when it is done and on the truck and no other information prior to that. So I was thinking to when I was searching for an in stock inventory car at dealers around the US (ended up taking my local dealer's allocation and built my own). They would post stock photos of an incoming car. Then once it arrived it was marked sold. One or two dealers said that Porsche required them to list "all" incoming cars (even if they were ordered/sold) on their website. So I was thinking, I wonder how fast that gets updated and maybe we can get a little advance notice of our cars heading to the dealer before TYD and/or the dealer. My dealer shows two incoming cars (neither is my color), so that would refute my argument, but holding out hope.

I think the cars show up on dealers website when they leave the port. I think they can turn this off or on because you will almost never see a GT3 listed. I think they don’t always list customer orders.
The website still shows my car as been produced but not at the dealer however I got an email today to link my car to my account and sign up for the free charging.

some dealerships will post cars that they do not have just to have something to show their flag.
I was recently looking at cars for my wife, a corvette, and more than one dealership has cars labled as incoming that really don't exist. think of it as a place saver on those car selling sites.

Some dealers will actually have customer built cars that were ordered enter their website because their system shows every incoming car, regardless of whether it's going to enter their actual sales inventory or not. My guess is they do this ahead of time in case a customer cancels an order so it won't sit on their lot for long.

Most Taycans right now are being sold before they even reach the dealer's lot. I'm waiting on one to come in from Florida myself.

What I haven't figured out is whether the dealer's incoming inventory cars are getting prioritized over customer builds when it comes to TPMs and other parts which are in a shortage.

That is what I heard when I was searching for inventory cars back in June. Makes sense that until the papers are signed, the car is not sold.

FL here and my car is in the Jacksonville, FL port waiting on the TPM. My dealer shows has been showing 2 incoming cars (different colors from mine) that have had no update.

Was your car in their possession or one they ordered?

The car has not been delivered to them yet, but I purchased from them when it was showing incoming on their website. They had ordered it, I believe. I actually had to decide quickly because another dealer wanted to get it from them so I had to put a deposit down about 3 weeks ahead of its scheduled delivery. This is through Suncoast in Sarasota, FL.

I'm pretty sure it's gonna be sitting in the port with your car for a while, but will let you know if it gets delivered to their dealership. As of earlier this week they said it was still on track.

Did they give you the TYD email for it? Mine was on the Siem Aristotle and landed in Jacksonville on 8/14/2021. Wonder if it was on the same ship as mine. Suncoast is a little over an hour south of me, so potentially, yours could be on the same transport truck as mine.

Nope, I'm just getting direct updates from my sales guy over text when I ask him. I'll see if he can give me access to TYD or forward it to me with the details. He told me it was still on a boat so it mine may not have arrived yet.

It's possible they will deliver all of these to the dealership and ship the TPMs there. I'm sure it's a case of everyone in the supply chain trying to kick the inventory can down the road. You'll know it's gotten really bad when they start shipping cars to us without TPMs and tell us not to drive them!

They don’t make money till we sign the papers. Their cash flow is going to take a hit if they can’t move the cars. I read on Rennlist that they send the missing parts DHL overnight air when they have them. I was hoping those would be enroute noe that the factory is back.

if You have a commission number or VIN, the 800 number on Porsche website can help get the TYD email out to you. It’s kind neat, but not 100% accurate. Here is my current status. Bern this way since 8/14.

Thanks for the tip! I just called them and they told me the vehicle is in the Jacksonville, FL port, slated for delivery on 9/3. I asked if it may delay due to TPM and the rep told me there is no hold on the vehicle currently which would indicate that it's likely to deliver on time.
