Just got a call from my SA. My car was released from port this morning It still needs to get on a truck but I feel fortunate that it has cleared the stop-sale.

Unfortunately I didn’t have access to the TYD for this one as I reserved it as it was being shipped to the dealer (after it arrived at port actually) and never requested TYD for it.

So far I do not receive any notice from the SA, but my TYD did update this morning from Port Processing to En Route to Dealer. The estimated delivery date still shows 05/20. My 2022 CT4 was hold at Houston port since 02/22.

Another side effect of these delays is the interest rate for auto loan financing has increased quite a bit since the original estimated delivery date of 3/25. Watching "Squawk Box" on CNBC, it looks like the Fed may raise the rates again in the next few months.

Was going to finance about 40% of the purchase, but will probably just pay cash now for the whole thing. I'll meet with my financial advisor first and get his take though.

Was anyone else planning to finance ?

I am financing. The interest rates will definitely go 1% higher than what I was quoted a month ago

Good news from SA. He got an update that my car will be out of PDI on 05/13.

Let's hope he's speaking the truth.

I had to get crafty. I was able to (eventually) convince my dealership to write up a PO for the car, though they didn't have it yet. That allowed me to disburse a loan that was approved and locked March 29th, when an 60 month loan was still 2.29% at my CU. The check is good for 90 days, so as long as we use they check before ~July 29th, we're still doing a 2.29% loan. The downside is that interest and payments started on April 28th, when it disbursed. That's not a big deal for me.

I just checked at the same credit union, though, and rates haven't gone up at all (they're still 2.29%), so I might have done all that effort for risk mitigation that wasn't necessary.

A friend of mine has been waiting since March on the release of his 2022 Panamera Sport Turismo Turbo S from Baltimore Port. Porsche has told him that it’s due to the PCM which is missing (due to chip shortages) and that they need to offload vehicles at the European manufacturing locations to make room for new production. Apparently the plan is to install the PCM units at the port cities as parts become available. Crazy stuff…….
