I believe I saw a post on this forum that indicated that if you drive to a destination with the nav unit activated, the high voltage battery is "conditioned" better than if you drove to the same destination without using navigation. Idea was that the battery management system - knowing the destination - can better adjust temperature of the battery, and possibly improve range.

Is that correct?

Not asking about pre-conditioning the battery to improve fast charging by navigating to a charging station - just using navigation to destinations on regular short or long drives.

I do not think there is any difference in this regard if you just use it for a destination other than a stop at a charger. Assuming that you do not need a stopover for charge before you reach your destination?

Remember also that if the battery is preheated on top of just trying to get to the optimal working temperature, that will consume extra energy.

There is a difference in the possible range on the GOM though. If you do not set a destination the car will not know if you go uphill, downhill or …. But if a destination is set there is a clear difference
