Fitting aftermarket carbon wing mirror caps? Any tips?

So, after a 3 month wait my eBay Chinese special carbon mirror caps have arrived. £300 gdp uk pound, and got to say quality looks epic, but obviously not fitted yet!

Any tips on fitting or will I regret it? Same as 992?

Good luck. It’s a biatch when it doesn’t line up perfectly. Just be patient. And it’s ok to back out and return those parts if they didn’t build it right. It happens about 30% of the time with those molds. And if it fits perfectly, couple folks over tighten or don’t line the tabs up right and snap those tiny plastic parts. One guy had a shop do it and later found out they used some polymer based glue to glue the side caps on because they broke the tabs and didn’t tell the owner. Good luck.

So, just to update . Must admit been putting it off as my skills are 5/10 and watching the video of the gorilla forcing the mirrors off had me envisioning all sort of broken tabs/ parts…

However happy to report was fairly simple. Took me 45 mins and that was watching the video, getting a few beers and generally taking my time.

Quality of the mirrors is amazing although one tab did break off, unbeknown to me at the time but once the caps are screwed in I’m pretty sure this will make no difference. If I can be bothered I may pop the glass back off and glue it back on.

Main tip if you watch the video don’t just man handle them, you can see the holding tabs once the mirror glass is removed, get a screwdriver and pop these off pre removing and the caps just pop off!

Car very dirty and mirrors covered in my finger prints but very happy. Will post some clean pics up tomorrow once it’s had a bath..
