Hi,

recently signed up to Octopus Energy Intelligent Octopus and seem to have connected everything up and have charge schedules being set in the app…

However, when I plug my car is and activate my Wallbox Pulsar charger it just carries on all the way up to 100% charge regardless of time of day.

For those that have got this to work, what My Porsche app settings have you got set up?
Any help appreciated.

Assuming we’re taking the same intelligent octopus, the octopus app should control it..example screen attached

Exactly that yes. It’s set me charge plan but my car just saps up the charge when I plug in anyway. Octopus have replied real quick so I’ve sent them a load of screenshots to see if it’s something I’m doing wrong.

This problem is also discussed here - https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...r-intelligent-tariff.16074/page-6#post-260032

OI will overwrite any Porsche settings you apply.
My problem was target charges not being fulfilled. Octopus have not solved that so I deleted the car (device) from their app and now successfully rely on my own Porsche profile and timer settings to charge 2330 - 0530.

[email protected] is the contact address
They have been quite quick to reply. I’ve sent them all my screenshots to try to understand what’s going on. I’ll try again next time I need to charge and see what happens.

do you still get the discounted rate if the Octopus app is not triggering the charge? If so I may just do the same and set a timer in the Porsche app. ?

Provided you control charging to occur 2330 to 0530 you will get the reduced rate. All your consumption during that period is charged at the cheap rate, not just charging. If your charger has any scheduling capability you may need to revise that, or turn off the charger’s scheduling and just rely on the car/My Porsche.

Note the % charge target in your profile is the minimum to be reached on plug in, designed so you have enough for emergency use. That will usually be much lower than the target % you set in a timer. The recommended timer setting unless you need 100% for the next day is 85%.. Your profile should set set with a preferred charging period of 2330-0530 and your timer with the ‘ready by’ time.

I sent before and after screenshots to Octopus for the 1st week of August but they have yet to respond with a solution. They originally said they would adjust my billing for the Bump charges I had to make but one week later they retracted that. I’ve lodged a complaint about that.

My opinion is that until Octopus fix this, once you have completed one charge to make the OI tariff effective, control your own charging. Neither OVO or Octopus seem to understand how Porsche Profiles and Timers work.
