Got the link to check in online as the car goes in tomorrow for the ARB5 recall. Noticed that it also mentions WRE1 which wasn’t mentioned in the letters. Anyone know what this one relates to? Presume battery modules also.

Car returned after 3 weeks with recall work completed:

WRW1 - Reprogram external communication control unit (OTA-FC)
WRE1 - Replacing cell block module on high-voltage battery (33)

Trying to get any info out of the service tech regarding what was done, how many modules affected etc. was like trying to get blood from a stone, so no idea what has been carried out. Also no mention of ARB5 which was the one it was in for (presume this is covered with WRE1).

I can now charge to 100% though and seems like three weeks was a pretty good outcome.

I checked the battery SoH before it went in and after I got it back, just out of interest to see if anything was different following module replacement. No change.

My left front cooling fan is stuck solid. I attempted the screwdriver method to try and turn it but it doesn't budge. I will attempt to remove the arch liner and see if i can get to it to free it up.

ARB5 is the recall campaign, and WRE1 is the action item of the recall campaign.
Aka, under ARB5, they took the action WRE1 for 1 battery module, the one with the number 33, and replaced it.
That involves opening up the battery enclosure, replacing the module/s, resealing the enclosure, doing pressure test, and load balancing of the modules and reinstalling the battery to the car chasis.

I had that happen. Afterward I recommended owners occasionally check that both fans are free to spin. Deep in the car computer it seems to know the fan is frozen, but no warnings to the driver. I would not try to free it. You need a new fan. I would have the dealer perform the fan/shroud update. In the US, at least, dealers get a kit to replace the fans and shrouds with ones less likely to trap debris. The work order says do this if the customer is complaining of a loud humming noise. I told my dealer mine was humming before it froze solid. They did the update for free.

I did see info on the TSB that was issued and the subsequent improvement in the design, however it doesn't appear that my car has had this, and it's not in warranty. I intend to take out a warranty however they won't approve it until this is rectified. I have seen the price of one of these fans and they are not cheap...

There's a post on here with one of the users managing to remove the fan and work on it to free it up so this was going to be the first thing I attempt. If it functions for the 111 point check, then it may be covered under warranty at a later date. That was my thinking anyway.
