I share your pain. I paid more than double what I'd pay in my home country, even after a tax break for scrapping an ICE car. It was an eye-watering amount by my standards. Still, I'm very happy with the purchase, which really I've waited all my life to be able to make.In Denmark there is a lot of tax on cars. We pay 2,5 times as much for cars than other countries. We have a 150% tax on cars. But on electric cars the tax is only 65 %.
I save some money on importing a “used” car because the tax is then lower.
