Navigation hangs after workshop visit

After taking my Taycan in for 12V battery diagnostics, I have an annoying and persistent issue with navigation via PCM: it hangs.
Every 10 minutes or so, the turn by turn assistance and the distance to the next turn hang; they just don't update. The map itself does update, as does my position on it. Then after a few minutes, everything updates again.

Usually, this is only a minor annoyance. But sometimes, in the middle of complex city navigation, it can be very annoying and even dangerous. I've taken to not using PCM for nav any more and using Carplay. So now I'm missing out on battery preheating.

Has anyone experienced something like this also? Any known fixes?

I see exactly the same. I'm not sure if it's since the battery update or one of the other updates installed recently. I only really use the navigation on roadtrips typically during the summer and it certainly did not have this behavior last summer. I'm currently in Austria and it's super frustrating to have to look at the map constantly to ensure you don't miss a turn.

I had this recently throughout a trip to France, I missed a few turns until I realised what was happening, as you say the map position was always accurate just no direction instructions, so I just kept an eye on the map so I didn’t miss any turns.

It seems that a recent update is causing this. I'm going to feed this back to my dealer, see what they say.

I have exactly the same issue with the turn by turn navigation suddenly hanging. I have not had any PCM updates apart from map updates. Nothing OTA or by dealer.

To me this feels like a problem that has been introduced by a map update? Or a communication issue with Porsche servers?

That could well be! My Porsche dealer told me they have not heard about this issue before and asked me to bring my car for diagnostics. I will, at some point, but I can’t miss it at the moment so it will be a while.

Yup I'm getting this too, really frustrating when navigating cities with lots of turns. We can only hope they address it quickly in another update but it feels to me more like a system software issue than a map update one

Press and hold the PCM “Info” button (or the on/off button on the center console) for 10 seconds until the screen reboots. If that doesn't work, you can perform a hard PCM reset.

Go to PCM Settings > System > Reset > Confirm. The system will reboot and restore factory settings.

I experienced exactly the same issue on a roadtrip here in Norway a couple of weeks ago. Because of this hanging problem I drove passed an Ionity station and instead ran into very slow traffic on the motorway. Took me close to one hour before I finally arrived at the Ionity station I had entered as a stopover in the navigator.

My car will be in at a Porsche centre while here in Sweden on holiday , next week. I will ask them about this problem as well.

It is going back to try to get the WRS0 update installed. At the moment they can not communicate with the car at all.

No restart of the car, no two finger salute and no battery disconnect has helped so far, to get the direction to work.

Omg! I have this since a week or so, I thought I was becoming crazy. Turn by turn navigation freezes for 10 minutes or so, and available charger indication (the green ones) are sometimes visible / invisible

I didn't notice it on the first part of our trip but after a few hours it installed a map update (two actually). After that it started to misbehave. Though the first part of the route is something I know well so maybe I just didn't look too much at the navigation.

Funny, few days ago I experienced similar glitches with Waze navigation (using via CarPlay on PCM, but the nav bugs are totally in the iPhone Google app). The car location in Waze seemed to have a lot of error too. I was thinking it might have to do something with Trump activating some military protocol after some Russian ex-president comments (I read Trump repositioned some nuclear submarines in response), as I 've encountered something like this after 9/11 attacks. Went back to normal the next day, not restarts of anything.

I have just started getting this (tried hard re-set of PCM etc) have you managed to fix it ? if so how - thanks.
