Porsche Taycan Next Gen Taycan Lights 334ABABB-692E-4860-BE18-EBC8580B1FC0

Apparently the 2027/8 model will have the world’s first exposed auto headlamp. My colleague over at WRDC said they’ve worked out the kinks of implementing exposed lamps [as seen on the Mission E concept] weather protection wise.

First gen hinted at them, with the mid-cycle using more traditional headlight coverings to accommodate the new xenon system, but an exposed system would definitely set this model apart again, considering all of the new models have only slight variations on that covered design.

What’s the point? Just seems more likely to get damaged

I’m a huge fan of the Mission-e concept but they look awkward to clean 🤷‍♂️

I like it visually, but the working elements aren't actually exposed.
More like four highly sculpted lenses containing those, perhaps joined together further back from the front.
