Thanks for the response!Definitely not normal.
I have over 7000 miles on Mission E wheels and they still look like new.
Ridiculous! Factory ordered is only $1,290. As to the workmanship, it looks like they did not prepare the surface well enough. The blue is releasing from the black. They charged me 2.5k to repaint the wheels.
I don’t have any nicks or chipping, but I don’t do a lot of highway driving. There are reports of chips in the forum. Thanks for the response!
Do you have any knicks/chippings at all?
I assumed it was normal for the paint to maybe get chipped eventually by a pebble for example.
As for the paint peeling then what do you think I should do?
This is a Porsche dealership in grapevine texas?
They charged me 2.5k to repaint the wheels.
No clue if I should hire a local expert here I’ve known for a while to just repaint it correctly, or contact my personal dealership here etc.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Painting just that outer strip is a lot more difficult than painting the entire wheel. I don’t know what a reasonable price would be, but it would be a lot more than repainting the entire wheel.$2.5K to repaint wheels?
Getting a wheel repainted is $200 a wheel on the VERY high end.
How can getting a front bumper repainted by a porsche approved paint shop be cheaper than a single wheel.

first I’m new to the forum!
I just bought a 2021 Porsche taycan in frozen blue.
here is a video of it
it was ordered through Porsche grapevine texas and the mission E wheels were repainted in the frozen blue metallic to match the car as I requested.
porsche grapevine texas did it.
im wondering if any of you are dealing with this issue with your mission E wheels but the paint is literally peeling and ripping on my car.
I can’t tell if this dealership just did a horrible job or this is a mission E wheel issue.
here are 2 videos of the paint peeling
I mean is this normal?
can’t tell if this dealership just did a horrible person job repainting or this is a Porsche mission E wheel issue and not sure where to go from here.
thanks
yeah I will definitely be ceramic coating them now after the paint is correctly finishedHi, I also have frozen blue painted rims. They are not mission E, but are 21 inch Taycan exclusive design wheels. These came as a factory option. This was a $1,290 option. They are still pristine after 1500 miles of driving. I also had them ceramic coated to protect against stones and break dust.
I’ll try to reach out. At this point not really interested in working with them anymore and will just find my own local specialist to deal with it properly.Luke Manning is a member of this forum.
