Anybody seen this before?

4s in normal mode but the Trip screen on the PCM shows that only the rear motor is drawing power and recouping power. The front motor has disappeared??

thanks

More info please - model year, a picture of the error message, and whether your 4S has had the software uPdate. The uPdate cuts power to the front motor to improve the range. I have a 2022 RWD, so I'm not an expert. Thanks.

evening TXAG

it’s a 2020 4s, the odd thing is there is no error message.

The uPdate is being done next week so fingers crossed it gets sorted then.

I have to admit I noticed it after I watched a few videos on the uPdate changes and that range mode uses the rear motor now and not the front etc etc

I'm stumped ?, sorry. Discuss this with folks servicing your 4S and ask if they can check for the error post-uPdate. The uPdate is supposed to fix many bugs and inconsistencies, especially with 2020 Taycans. I hope it's just a software error. Good luck!

Hi
Try using more power - front engine is decoupling in normal/range mode if only cruising.

Yes this is now 'normal' following the uPdate on any MY23 car.

Note also that Range drive mode relies on the rear motor rather than the front one on AWD models as before.

Under braking both motors will provide recuperation.

Not true.

Bias post uPdate is now rear wheel drive for AWD models for either drive mode - from standstill to desired speed limit under normal acceleration.

In cruise i.e. coasting then both motors can be decoupled and de-energised.

Exactly what I was referring to, as the OP could not see any force from the front engine. I missed however that update is still pending.?‍♂

Tried more power, sports mode etc.
The image of the front motor isn’t actually on the screen anymore
Fingers crossed it’s a software issue and not that the car is now a 2s!

Hmm, sounds like software. Perhaps a reset (12v being the nuclear option) is needed.
