There is no right or wrong here Carlos,

Something is blocking communication between modules and since the Body control module is one of the most important controllers in the car, it is very possible that is where the error sits.

So I think the best thing to do is to run automatic coding on the BCM... that is, I can go here overview, select BCM 1 (0x9) and select BCM1 Doip and then click on coding programming and then automatic coding and see what happens...What is your opinion on selecting the BMC here and doing automatic coding throughout the module…

I cannot advise you on this Carlos,

I have only ever tried it on one error at a time.

My guess that if you select one line, it should be the same as selecting two lines.

Your call

There should be no harm in auto recoding the module, it will essentially restore factory settings of the module matching your car's global settings. You don't have to select both DoIP and [0x9] (which is CAN), it's the same module (BCM1), just different communication methods. I would start with CAN (0x9), let it complete, and if you want, try again via DoIP (Diagnostics over IP). I do recall there being a few modules that had slightly different settings available via DoIP than CAN, but I've manage to recode a lot of ECU's (customizing them to what I want, so not different from factory settings) recoding via just CAN.

Thanks Whitex,

Have you got any examples of what you did when customising the control units?

Ok, let's take it one step at a time. Initially, I tried to automatically code the BCM error code by error code and every time I tried, it gave me the same result.

I was trying via Doip BCM and it ended up here, it would be to choose the file and continue .....

After I couldn't execute the automatic coding in the BCM, I decided to try another module to see if it would enter by chance and in this case I tried BCM 2 (which only has an error in the airbag control module) after pressing automatic coding it didn't execute it just said it wasn't possible because the says that the vehicle data can not be determinate ..... Honestly either I'm doing something wrong or the BCM definitely won't let me enter...

Conclusion: I can read error codes and turn off the light, but I can't get Piwi to enter the module and automatically code error by error...:surprised:

I leave here again the error codes that remain after diagnosis and erasure, and the vast majority of errors are in one way or another connected with the BCM 1 module.

In the PIWIS manual I linked to, there is a guided fault finding section.

I have no idea whether that would open any doors for you, but suggest you read around this paragraph.

I was also unable to find any references for F-Tab other than Fault memory is a Tab, so maybe F-Tab is the fault memory tab.

Some things to try:
  1. Try coding BCM only via CAN (0x9 option), DoIP is new, so not all modules support full functionality via DoIP. The only one which I think DoIP was useful for me was PCM, but it's been a while.
  2. Do you have engineering mode (you have to enable it, typically in system menu though I've seen some hacks with manual script launches)? Might be worth a try. Personally I have only used engineering mode for my projects - it still supports auto-coding, just removes a bunch of restrictions, so for me for example I have parts some ECU's coded for EU and some for NA. Not sure why in your case when you try to recode BCM, why it tries to recode the BOSCH 513..., perhaps in non-engineering mode it always tries to recode all ECU's?

Ok, I've already activated the piwi for engineer mode, tomorrow I'll try the BCM module again in automatic coding mode, it might solve the problem...??my piwi was in (v).....

Whitex,

Can you explain more about how to do this - Try coding BCM only via CAN (0x9 option),?

You select only the BCM1 with the [0x9] option (see pic from Carlos above), 9 is the CAN address of the ECU. Then go to programming/coding tab, select auto coding and let it rip. It will only recode the BCM1 (only ECUs selected).

If you want to see or modify the global settings used to determine the individual ECU codings, on main diagnostics screen go to "Maintenance of vehicle data".

Also, see my instructions on recoding BCM2 in the EU tail light retrofit post .
