Has anyone replaced the pollen/cabin filter themselves? If so, where is the location of it? A pic would be great!

Under the glovebox, two rivet-like plastic things that you pull out (above your feet). Take the fabric panel off, mind the light that’s still attached to it.

There is plastic enclosure (on the right side) with two tabs, and the filter slides out at a slightly awkward angle.

Boy they sure make it hard to insert the danged filter. I think the curve makes it difficult, but it finally went in. Lets see, that's about $400 off the dealers install price right lol?

Today I realized this is a massive understatement. I’d like to find the person that designed the tiny opening for the large filter and punish them on behalf of everyone who ever has to change this air filter.

For anyone who is going to attempt this swap, realize that the opening is not the same length as the long side of the filter. It’s actually the length of the shorter side that is opposite to the long side. Therefore you need to squish AND curve the filter to get it to fit into the opening and then it expands again once it’s far enough up in the opening. And you’re doing this all blind from outside of the passenger door.

Have a nice beverage ready for when you’re done. ?

I have already watched it enough ahead of time to have the beverage ready if successful. I plan to swap it out every 5k miles. I wonder if 4-zone setup has more than one filter to swap. I let the dealer do it on the Cayenne as the main filter is not easy to do but not impossible and then there is another one somewhere based on the service description. I can do it on the Macan in minutes but still not very well designed as it is way low and deep. The best design, no surprise, the Japanese, Acura TSX swap is under 90 seconds, as you unlatch the glove box arms, remove a plastic frame that filter fits into, replace filter, slide it right back and snap the glove box arms back - great design!
