The Porsche Connect App is really terrible. Outside of the app, being woefully slow, there are 2 glaring issues wrong in the image.

1. According to the charging profile, charging shouldn't start until midnight but my car is currently charging.
2. The charging profile name is in German and I am unable change the name.

Your profile is set to "minimum charge 85%". Therefore regardless of preferred charging time settings, it will bring the charge up to 85%. Then wait until Preferred Time to further charge.

Seems to be "behaving as designed" in that respect.

Slow? Yup. It definitely is.
Profile name in German. Seems like a bug.

Interesting. How do you prevent it from charging higher than a certain percentage?

Why would you want it not to charge to full?

It is recommended by Porsche to only charge to 85% regularly.

All EV’ s should not be charged to 100% all the time, only when needed for a long trip.

Please share the source where you are getting this information about the Taycan from. My understanding is it doesn't apply because of how Porsche manages their vehicle.

I was told the same by my product specialist at Porsche.

I like my adviser, but I wouldn't trust them unless it's in writing from Porsche. From what I've heard and watched over the past few months (and no, I don't have hard data either) gave me the impression the Taycan isn't a Tesla, meaning it doesn't have charge limitations. Porsche has accounted for battery savings in software, so the driver doesn't have to worry about percentages.

I'm saying anyone here is wrong, I just don't know if anyone is right... if that makes sense.

@louv do you know how to limit the charge using the connect app?

I took the information from the Good to know app as well as the specialist at Porsche. And seeing so many reviews where they say that the last 5% to 100 % charge is very slow. It is stated that the BMS does a lot of rebalancing at that stage.

Here is the text from Good to know app.

Care instructions for the high-voltage battery
Car Care

Instructions for charging the high-voltage battery
  • Ensure that the temperature of the vehicle is between approx. –20 °C and +30 °C during the charging process.
  • If possible, begin charging the high-voltage battery via the Charging Planner and use the Timer or Profile function to charge the battery with alternating current (AC).
  • Use the Timer or Profile function to program a maximum high-voltage battery charge of 85 % for daily use of the vehicle without any long-distance driving.
  • If required, a battery charge of 100 % can be programmed before starting long journeys.
  • At ambient temperatures of over 30 °C, connect the vehicle to the mains and charge the high-voltage battery with alternating current (AC). Use the Timer or Profile function.
  • At ambient temperatures of over 35 °C, avoid using "Range" drive mode immediately after charging with in excess of 150 kW direct current (DC) in order to maximise cooling of the high-voltage battery.

Stupid question @EVOG ...

are you sure it’s not because the time you entered is 12pm to 6am rather than 12am to 6am.

I don’t have the app but is 12:00 on the above just 12pm?

should he app not be set to 00;00 to 06:00 to force overnight?

That's 12:00AM - 6:00AM.
