Just finished my 20k service on my 2022 Taycan CT.
I inquired about the extended warranty from Porsche since I will likely be at 50k in 2 years.

I was quoted the following:

1 year up to 75k $4997
3 years up to 100k $7547

Has anyone priced an extended warranty? Are the prices comparable?

anyone have any issues out of warranty or beyond 60k miles?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

That seems high. In Europe, around 2200 euro for 2 years extended warranty from Porsche directly.

Yeah, in the US it seems to be about the same $1k/yr ratio from the few Porsche dealers I've talked to.

Can you usually buy this before the factory warranty is up? Or do you have to buy it when the car is still relatively new?

Check with fidelity , same coverage typically 1/2 the price

You need to buy it before the conclusion of the factory warranty. A 3rd party extended warranty might have you do an inspection to qualify for coverage if your factory warranty has expired.

This is accurate and the Porsche quote is often negotiable - bring a Fidelity quote to your Porsche Dealer to see if they can match.
Also note that the coverage may differ - last time I looked, Fidelity did not cover air suspension which would be a big ticket replacement.

There's no extended warranty on battery right? The warranty covers all else?

I've got the standard 2 year warranty and then Porsche gave me an extended 2 year warranty as well for a total of 4 years. The battery is given an 8 year warranty. Porsche allows you to extend the warranty (on a 2 year basis) up until the 15th year. I wonder if that will cover the battery as well.

I'm in exactly the same situation as you.
Response from my dealer:

The Porsche Approved warranty prices are as follows:

- 1 year: €2,600 including tax
- 2 years: €3900 including tax
- 3 years: €5,300 including tax

No mention about mileage

As far as I'm aware, there's no mileage limitation ( Porsche Approved Warranty - Porsche Great Britain ).

Ref batteries, doubt these will be included at the moment...I'd wager Porsche and their warranty underwriters are waiting to see what happens out in the field first. The oldest Taycans are still only ~3-4yrs old. My guess would be that in another year or so we might see battery warranties starting to become available.

The warranty prices don't seem that bad to me. Mine's not due until March 2025, but when the first service comes around I might see what sort of deal can be done on extending the warranty for 3yrs. Looks like that's about £3k in the UK...I would imagine a replacement heater or cracked pano roof would cost more than that.

That looks to be close to double UK prices. Might be worth you calling a few other dealers?

That seems nearly double the price that I have paid. I have extended the warranty twice by 1 year at the time, luckily enough. Car is at present still in the workshop in Stockholm and has been there for 3 weeks+! The battery repair alone is on its second week and it seems there are a long list of steps to follow, understandably. We used Porsche Assistence to fly us back home and the car will be transported to us soon we hope.

I certainly have got a lot of value from the extended warranty and dare not even think what the repair costs would have run to else?
My car was one of the initial batch of Taycans sold in France in 2020, and I feared that there would be many initial issues, which there Is and have been. Used the car a lot after the pandemic and now have about 55k km on the clock.

I was told last week by a local Porsche dealer that Porsche USA was not offering an extended warranty on the Taycan, only other models. I'm still under the factory warranty, so their published information says the vehicle qualifies. If someone has recently purchased a factory extension through Porsche USA, let me know. Hard to believe they would leave us out in the cold.

In April of this year, I paid $3,648 for a 96 month / 60,000 mile Porsche Platinum with $250 Deductible. 2021 Turbo.
