While planning a route in the app, I have the option to add charging point operators to either a preferred list or an avoidance list. For example, I like Fastned and Ionity because they’ve always been reliable for me. Lidl, on the other hand, once caused serious issues with my car in France—it had to be reset after using one of their chargers.

I tried looking for a similar option in PCM, but I couldn’t find a way to manage preferred or avoided operators. Where can I find this setting? I have the J1.1 MY23.

This is part of the PCM update that only j1.2 got.

@ct14garage tried to offer it with his app, but couldn't, because PCM6 is garbage

Sadly, even if you set it in the app, once you send it to the car, the car route planner will recalculate as the version of pcm on j1.1 does not have preferred operators.

If you can convince your dealer to update your car (possible, it's same hardware ), then you may get it - the dealer or you needs to take the risk that as with any PCM update, the PCM can get bricked requiring hardware replacement. Or you can ask ct14 for the files and attempt it yourself, at your own risk.

you should be able to send the route with the charge stops to PCM though which in effect would be the same thing correct?

No, because the car recalculates, if you have routing enabled in the car. And the car doesn’t have the filters, therefore it will ignore them

Todays app update brought the option to mark a charging stop as obligatory preventing the car to through it out the window when recalculating the route

Could you give a step by step on how to do this steffencl?

I have always struggled to plan any journey with the app.

Sure, here you go:
- when planing a route via the App set your destination and calculate the route
- click on “plan” to go to the stop overview
- find the charging stop that should be retained and click on the settings symbol
- activate the toggle for “set as an obligatory charging stop”

I’ve attached some screenshots, hope that helps!

That’s good. It means you don’t have to do the splash and dash type stuff the Porsche planner seems to want to do.
Personally I prefer to stop for a bit longer, have a slash and get some low quality, ultra processed, high fat content food and end up with enough charge for the return journey to reach another such establishment.

Maybe another improvement would be the ability to only select charging points where there is a McDonald’s or KFC.
