Privacy mode at detailer

Detailed picked up my new (unseen) CT 4S from the dealer two days ago to apply coating (3 day process l). Car was immediately put into privacy mode.

Why? I know where their shop is located and where’re the dealer s located so what’s the big secret here? Anything I’m missing?

Hopefully they did not go joy riding testing launch control on brand new tires and a brand new car, but I’m going to look at the trip meter once I do delivery.

It will stop all contact with the car when enabled as I'm sure you are aware. Perhaps they didn't want you fiddling with some of the car's remote features whilst they were working on it? Disabling won't have any effect on the PVTS (tracker) so it can't be for that reason either.

Pretty sure the same thing that can happen when your dealer is doing work on the car - perhaps it's the 'Workshop Mode' in operation.
