I have PIRM and have been experimenting with how to condition the battery (e.g. heat the battery) while enroute to a "Porsche charger" (e.g EA) in the GPS. The conditioning appears to ONLY work if I put the car in RANGE mode...is that really the only way that conditioning occurs?

With my RWD with PIRM all I have to do is put in the EA station via PCM and it starts preconditioning no matter the drive mode.

my quick and dirty test (in SPORT mode) showed no battery temp change. Once I put it int RANGE mode, the battery temp started rising fairly quickly.....perhaps SPORT mode was the issue (or maybe I was not patient enough (!&%))
