Knowing how Porsche handled the Handsfree parking bug (mobile phone app feature) three years ago and the current issues with navigation, we can expect a long wait.

Prior to the Taycan I owned a Defender that had poor rear view camera visibility, it was terrible at night. JLR ended up doing an OTA update to the car and it improved dramatically. Hoping this is the case here.

You Europeans often get the Taycan recall remedies installed months before they are rolled out in US.

So far in EU the policy has been to only do the update when someone complains about it.
The reason they were forced to do the mass recall in the US is due to legislation, which does not exist in the EU.

That said I never had a single issue with the camera on my MY22, even if the camera wasn't the greatest.

To be fair, complain about it until they do something has worked for me

But I did actually have some intermitent issues with my right mirror camera; but it took about 1 year.

Whatever they did, also improved image quality of the cameras. Albeit, not vastly, but improved

But no “self healing” / reboot / restore / debug option is present, like what they describe in the recall. I wonder if this exists on my26

The US recall info at NHTSA is here. It appears to cover all 2020-2025 Taycans (my VIN does not show as a recall but this notice says that (apparently) won't happen until ~ Jan 19, 2026)

Well the two weeks without a recall in my life were nice.

I thought the Taycan would have more recalls than a 911 since Porsche doesn’t have EV powertrain expertise but it looks like they can’t even properly do a passenger seat or reverse cam. Oops.

If we are fortunate, maybe after the fix the rear camera will present an image that doesn't represent "Lucy in the sky with diamonds".
