Howdy,
I had a good look at the threads on here about the @redshift-performance Drive Controller Upgrade and talked myself into it
Mario was a pleasure to deal with, responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. Also thanks to the many Taycan Forum members who weighed in on the different threads discussing this, it really helped me make up my mind.
I purchased the second ECU to keep the stock one in case it ever needs to go back in. I was able to provide Mario with a dump of some parameters via car scanner and so didn't have to ship the original over to the US.
I have a 2024 GTS Sport Turismo and it being a GTS possibly has the most to gain from the update, having the same front and rear motors as the Turbo and Turbo S, albeit a smaller front inverter than the Turbo S.
It was a really straightforward swap, though it took me maybe 2 hours to do as i was very careful with the trim pieces, terrified I'd break some flimsy plastic thing.
The extra power is incredible but for me the unfiltered throttle response was the most impressive part. There is nothing interpreting what i might or might not want anymore, it feels fantastic, linear, instant. While the car has always been great for overtaking the feeling of acceleration in the 60-120km/h range is now on another level.
So i have some dragy stats. Bear in mind the closest, straightest, widest, safest bit of road has a 3% slope so dragy shows as invalid but the before and after were done at the same place in the same conditions. My tyres are almost at the wear marks, maybe 1k or 2k more left in them. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3s. On 21s. The road surface isn't the cleanest and the road temperatures wouldn't have been the best and the dog ate my homework, Putin invaded Ukraine, i stubbed my toe on the leg of the bed etc etc.
SOC greater than 90%
0-100kmh from 3.62 to 3.06 (with better tyres and a warmer, cleaner surface i think it would be closer to 2.8, it was struggling for grip, unlike before)
0-200kmh from 11.39 to 9.34
1/4 mile from 11.37 to 10.63 (it should be a small bit better but I lifted off a fraction early due to traffic ahead as you can see in the dip at the end of the curve)
Before
After
So in summary if you haven't gotten this upgrade, GET IT NOW!
