Nice story...it takes me back to my youth growing up in Conway, NH. My brother still lives there operating a mountaineering school (SOLO) I need to get back to visit with my 2020 4S, but got range anxiety...I need to reconsider

ST is definitely a way better choice than the sedan when you go to rural areas more often. I tried 4 miles of unpaved road with my GTS Sedan (lifted most of the time) in Samish Overlook over here in WA. Consequently, quite a few scratches / small dents showed up on Mission E.

And how would ST fix that? I didn’t get it

SOLO is a seriously big deal -- I took my WFA and WEMT module when I first getting starting in all this, and then last year I accompanied our teenage daughter to WFA.
SOLO has plenty of competitors now, but they started the entire field of study back in the day.

Yes, brother Frank started SOLO (Stoneharth Open Learning Opportunities) back in the early 70's after finishing up school at ASU. He has trained lots of EMT's/WEMT's down through the years.
I designed his school and he got friends to build it with timber harvested off the land my dad gave him....it has taken 50 years to build what he has created, and in addition he has his family medical clinic on the four corners in Conway (Saco Docs)
By the way, he prefers Subaru's,....that is where we part ways.

Whoah, your brother is Dr Frank Hubbell? He's kind of legendary around here.

And driving a Subaru is almost mandatory in northern New England mountain towns.
(Although the SUV craze has cut into that, but the Outback, Forester, Crosstrek still maintain a dominant presence in parking lots at ski patrol events and at backcountry trailheads. I drove a string of Subaru Legacy sedans from 1991 into 2019. All my ski buddies still don't understand what's happened ... nor does my family!)
