Others may correct me here but I'm not aware that the app knows about cheaper electricity outside the cheap window, such as when Octopus schedules a charge. To show "estimated" cost the app just works works with the normal times. I believe you'll need to check your bill to be sure.
Perhaps I am not being clear tophamn.
I plug the Taycan in
Octopus sometimes recognises, sometimes not, but when it does recognise the Taycan is charging, a shedule is created - example below.
The following day you can look at your electricity charges in the Octopus app and check the number of kW charged off-peak and peak, where it is very easy to see if the off-peak number matches the charge % increase and also if the peak charges are aligned with other days in the week.
As a rule of thumb every kW charged by Octopus should provide somewhere between 0.9 kW and 0.95kW to the Taycan battery.
The usable capacity of my larger 93.4 kWh Taycan 4S battery is 83.7 kWh, so for every kWh charged by Octopus, you get around 1.19% of additional charge at the Taycan battery.”
So much as it may surprise you that I am sometimes charged peak rate when charging my car, I can assure you that is my reality when checking in the Octopus app.
