Rolex's do keep some of the worst time. My Breitling watch keeps some of the best time.
And it's a Great looking watch too. I call it my Rolex killer bcz when I wear my Rolex after the Breitling it feels like I don't have a watch on. Lol

That is quite surprising. Which model / year Rolex do you have?

Rolex tests all of its watches in-house, ensuring they meet extremely stringent standards for reliability and precision, with a minimum accuracy of +/- 2 seconds per day.

To earn the much-coveted title of an officially certified chronometer, the Breitling movement must meet seven extremely rigorous eliminatory criteria, including a mean daily variation in rate of less than -4/+6 seconds - corresponding to a 99.99% degree of accuracy.

My thoughts on Rolex fwiw....

I have had a good few of them over decades (as well as other brands) and they have mostly served me well.
They are quite robust and have a good dealer network. You know parts will be available for decades and you can get them serviced most places in the world.

I have sold all of them (except 2) for quite a lot more than I paid for them. So all fine.....

But, I hate all the current hype (social media!) that they now have.
I don't wear certain models any more as they are a thief magnet and every kid on the street knows what they are.

If I didn't own them already, I would just keep my Datejust as a great all-rounder and replace any sport models for something else.

But - it would need to be something with a good dealer network and service reputation.

Just got this new model Datejust 41 with Green Motif dial - very pleased with it - done with the sports model and sold them all.

So I've modded my Casio G-Shock GM2100 with a new full metal case and bracelet.
This mod is called the CasiOak.
I wonder why...?

I'm very happy with it. ?
It's a unexpectedly good quality product from China.

I don't like the new full metal Casio G-Shock GM-B2100 but this one is all the best bits combined (and for half the price ?).

It's big, bad and brutal.
Something different in my collection, full metal jacket!

Next watch: Tissot PRX Tiffany... ?

I used a standaard Casio G-Shock GM-2100-1AER and a modding set from eBay.
You only have to unscrew four screws and take out the Carbon Core® and put it in the case.
You can use any GM-2100, there are different colors.
Tutorial video.

You can also use GA-2100, they are cheaper but don't have that metal dial finish and you need a different mod case.

Back on topic, I would have no real interest in a watch that needed charging every day.

Says the Taycan owner after plugging in their Level 2 EVSE cable before bedtime.

In all seriousness, I wear my TAG Heuer x Porsche Connected smartwatch on workdays as a "tool" watch to monitor notifications on my phone and track steps / fitness. On weekends, I'll swap to a TAG Heuer Monaco, Breitling Navitimer, or other mechanical watch since I don't need to be connected to work or reminded to walk more!

I do not expect to see any 1st gen Taycans on the road in 25 years, just as you would never see anyone using a Motorola StarTac flip phone today. Unfortunately, the Taycan won't fit into my junk drawer! It's a whizbang hot gadget of the moment, and the true analogue (pun intended) to a mechanical watch would be an ICE 911.

Love watches! SO many amazing watches in this thread - must - not - succumb to - temptation!!!
Had lots, pared down a lot recently to basically 3:
Oris ProDiver Ti probably gets most wrist time - my do anything watch
Carlos Costa IV is a close second - I'm just a bit more careful with it.
The Frogman get occasional use - mainly summer lake time.
Wishlist: Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Orange / black or grey...

since we are talking watches... my first grab of the year and it's also my 40th birthday gift from my wife.. TAG connect E4 x Porsche that i have been eyeing for few months now. I am an old fashioned analog / mechanical watch collector and if i knew have to jump to smart watch world, it will only be one of the top manufacturers... this one fits the bill! here are the pics... it connected to my Taycan seamlessly

My Porsche Design IWC made watch I bought with my Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition. One watch is made per car and they engrave your number into the back when you get it. As you see mine is 322/992 made. The face matches the Heritage instrument cluster heritage green color, red strap matches the interior and the rear rotor is the same as my wheels. One of the best car memorabilia pieces I have. Cheers

NWA: just picked up my first microbrand from Korea, called Pitzmann II (their second release) after seeing a few early reviews online.

40mm case, less than 11mm thickness, powered by a modified Selitta SW300 movement with 50 hr PR, and 150m water resistance with screw down crown, fully lume hr markers and hands. ??

For a retail price just under $1000, this is a really nice sport/dress no date in the vein of a budget Grand Seiko or Omega Aquaterra. Also being Korean born I'm happy to support a product from the motherland made by people who seem to have a real love of horology ??
