Whirring noise in PCM - any ideas on how to solve this?

When starting up my car, there is a continuing whirring noise coming from the PCM. It has been there since a few months, and started during the hottest summer days.

I have not yet contacted dealership about this issue, but suspect there may be a small fan inside the PCM that causes this (which may be warped or out of whack) - if I put my hand behind the PCM, I feel a small breeze coming out at a specific point, not unlike what a computer fan generates.

Anyone had this happen or know how to address this? Thanks in advance (and I did use the search function).

Fan issue, seen it before. Dealer will replace.

Do you mean the instrument cluster? I also hear a fan running sometimes. No idea what triggers it as it sometimes starts when I power on the car. Both hot and cold days...

Same. Occurs maybe once every couple weeks and goes away usually when I drive next.

Thanks much - the sound usually disappears after some time, but still think it should not be there. I will mention that when making the next dealer appointment, and see if and how this can be addressed, and report here.
