Does anyone else have the issue where their app states that the rear windows are open when they clearly aren’t?

Yes I do sometimes. It helps to open and close that window or just update status thru swipe in the app and it dissapears.

It was a similar thread recently. Lots of ppl have this. It is apparently a delay in the cloud.
you can for instance use the app shortly to update the cloud connection by honking or locking your car

I don’t know how to link to another thread. But this is the title: ‘Apps often says windows are open’

It’s a known “bug” in the sense that the stupid app assumes windows are opened until it updates itself.

Also, do you charge your car to above 90% each time, or just that one time? Just wondering.

I had that issue a while ago,,, and i found somewhere a procedure how to reset sensors…but i couldn’t recall it 😇🤦🏻‍♂️
I just remember that it has to be done in the car, with window open/close button…

In the linked thread above - I tried it but it didn’t fix it for me.

Most of the time I charge to about 90%. Once in a while I’ll do 100% if I have a long trip.

Opening and closing the doors fixes it for me sometimes. Other times just waiting a few minutes. I basically ignore it now as the app has shown this warning countless times in the last 3 years, never once was the window actually open.

Any alarm which falses a lot is functionally useless. Yet another example of Porsche excellence in design and implementation - some executive had a checkbox to check somewhere, so they checked it and never looked back.

PS> Coincidentally my 2013 Model S has a similar problem back in 2013. Tesla fixed it over the air few weeks later, which was unusually long time for seemingly simple Tesla fixes back then, so it must have not been super easy to solve. That said, they did fix it, way before Mission E turned into Taycan, so couldn't Porsche just learn from their competition? Maybe it's a German thing "must learn on our mistakes at our own glacial speeds". That said, if they were to learn from others, I would agree there are bigger solution they could copy, for now just remove the window monitoring by the app and call it done (yea, I know, that would uncheck some box for some executive, so they can't do it).

I've been charging to the recommended max of 85% daily, and up to 100% when traveling (less at DC stations unless absolutely necessary, 100% at home before leaving for travel and 100% when staying at destination chargers at hotels). I've used the same strategy (90% was recommended) on 4 Model S'es over a decade (owned 2 at a time) and all 4 had minimal battery degradation. Also charging our Audi Q8 eTron to recommended 80%, again, except for travel. So far Taycan and Q8 eTron batteries have fared well with that strategy (they are both ~3 years old).

I've been charging the Taycan up to 80% for daily driving. I was charging my Model 3 to 80% prior too.

I just charge to the max recommended for daily charge by the manufacturer (85% for Taycan, 90% for all my Teslas, 80% for Audi). Typically I keep my cars 2 years, or 4 years, but sometimes longer if they depreciate faster. The longest kept EV was almost 8 years old when I sold it (was ready to sell it at 6 years, but Porsche was unwilling or unable to sell me a Taycan for me for 2 years), it was a 2015 Model S which had its battery degradation in single digit percentages (I forgot the exact number, but I know it was way less than 10%). The way I look at it is that I have 8 year warranty coverage on the battery. Sure, it might degrade earlier, but that's not really going to affect my trade-in value as long as it's within the acceptable degradation (if not, I get it fixed under warranty).
