I was just thinking how much fun it would be to have a track day like this which made me think of the nice write-up from @daveo4EV at

But then I thought what really makes it special here is probably that Porsche is paying for the set of tires.

One of the better videos out there. I really enjoyed his description of how the Taycan drives.

yeah Track days can be a lot more fun with

• someone else’s vehicle
• someone else’s tires
• closed/private track
• probably some fast charging arranged at the track (mobile semi-truck based fast charger??)
• camera crew with multiple camera’s in vehicle

I’m also going to suggest the nannies were disabled for this track day (something else I’ve not yet done on track) - my experience @ laguna found the vehicle more more constrained and the nannies were very very effective

I’d love a day like this - but alas it’s also very hard on the vehicle to drive it like this and my Taycan is my daily driver and I’d like to treat it better (note him collecting a traffic cone)

he also noted the issue about the thermal limits being reached but further out than Tesla - I’m going to guess he was doing 2 or 3 hot laps for video’s then coming in…this would allow Taycan to be run all day hard like this (assuming you have fast charging at/near the track)

driving like this is _NOT_ the way to get the quickest lap times, but is super fun!

if anyone wants to crowd source me funds for this - I’ll be happy to provide a video review of taycan at a private track day at Thunderhill!! I know I know that is very very gracious of me and I’m a true gentleman for offer, but hey its’ the type of guy I am and I will take one for science/data - so feel free to send funds my way and I’ll be magnanimous and and flog a set of tires on a Taycan.

Great watch that and some amazing driving! Only downside was reading the subs detracted from watching the vid! Probably need to watch again and just watch the drifting!
