Let's face it, the test mules were just ugly and in my opinion, that's what was needed to keep us all guessing and still be able to ensure that this is a Porsche quality car that is able to drive well in any environment. I think the sketches are closer to the final reveal than and of the so called "spy photos", many of which appear to be staged.

As a previous poster stated, this is Porsche's first shot at an EV and there's no way it's going to be released looking ANYTHING like those hideous test mules.

Well I already prayed this since day one on this forums...it won’t be a smaller Panamera. Since it’s an official PAG statement, I hope this discussion comes to end now..

I wonder if it's fair to assume that since Porsche is sending the Prototypes that were seeing on the street to the 3 PECs per their newsroom release, that what we will end up is that car with all of the camo removed, consistent with how the latest new models (e.g., 992, 3rd Gen Panamera) have been released? In other words, what you see in the sketches in over exaggerated a bit.

I really hope so, that would really streamline the rear end of the Taycan and make it look much sleeker

You probably have already seen this shot of the spoiler. I don't think it looks too bad.

That's a very good picture of the more aggressive aero-parts of the Turbo S model (noticeable because of the yellow ceramic brakes).

I've marked them in the following pictures. I also saw these parts in carbon on a Turbo S version:

    Kind Regards

    Hi PAG_J1,
Can you please clarify, will the Taycan look like the recent aggressive looking sketches with the wide rear hips and sleek style or the mules? I like the sketches and own several Turbo S cars. Thanks!

I'm not an insider but there is NO WAY the final production model of the Taycan will look any different than the prototypes we've seen in all the recent spy photos.

That's it, that's the Taycan. With a little bit of camouflage around the lights.

    Maybe.
My guess is that a strong majority of deposits were based on the design of the Mission E. EVS are not selling well in the USA and the Taycan design will be critical for Porsche.
Why is Porsche releasing sketches last week of the Taycan that look great and similar to the E? Not good if the Taycan looks like the mules!

I am looking forward to what PAG_J1 says.

It's a sketch. Not a 100% accurate, highly realistic drawing.

The sketches have all the elements of the production model. You can compare the sketches to the spy photos or the official pictures from the Shanghai event. Every detail is there.

    Just slightly exaggerated.

looks like the 'little' Panamera spoiler. I hope they have a larger version. This one looks
Unfortunate about the spoiler if this truly is the production version on the Turbo. I think the Panamera large spoiler looks terrific. This looks like an add-on that I definitely will not be using if it looks like this. Why would you break up the clean lines of this car with something that looks like it has been cut and lifted from the rear end???

Question - will the Turbo S be released first, or later? I've heard rumors that the Turbo will be released first, with the S to follow.

    Thank you.
I understand the sketch, however what I am hoping for is the wide rear hips and aggressive design of the E. Maybe the Turbo S will have it. That is the one I will buy. The sketches just released are perfect. The mules don't come close.

    Hopefully PAG_J1 can answer it.

    Hi Ron,
I'm there with you with the enthusiasm:) However, I highly doubt that what we'll see is the sketch in production, that is even more exaggerated in design than the actual Mission-E. Based on previous model releases, including the new 992, i believe that what we see now is the car hidden by body cladding. This cladding can play tricks with our eyes and I think that once we see the final production car with the cladding removed, all of those aggressive lines will be more pleasing than we think....

As I said before...the single parts of the car on the sketches are the real deal. Still the sketches look too much like a Coupe version.
The mules already have the nearly finished body design. But the design is just working on the finished car in a painted color - you can't compare it to what you've seen on the mules.
